EVGA SuperNOVA PSU's

Well, I am almost done with my build, missing just a few items. One item in particular that has me the most hesitant is the power supply. Now since I live in the States holiday sales are almost, if not already here and various items seem so tempting but I won't jump the gun without some research. I have no knowledge of PSUs so I come to the forum for advice on this particular brand:

EVGA SuperNOVA 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

This power supply is fully modular, gold certified, and it is only 80USD. Seems to perfect so all I ask is for your opinion.

In case it matters my specs are:

Intel i5-4670k
MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming
MSI 770 2GD5/OC
G.SKILL Ripjaws X 8GB(2x4) DDR3-1600

Estimated Wattage: 423W

evga are a good company for graphic cards, haven't heard/seen anything on their psu's though, neither good nor bad. My guess is they're ok psu's, not as great as corsairs but way better than some random generic brand.

From what I could find, the OEM of this power supply is FSP, who also did some units for Cooler Master, Fractal Design, NZXT, Silverstone and Enermax so it should be alright.

EVGA are a respectable company that offer great warranty to back up their products too.

I would also prefer Corsair, but I am not left with much funds and the features I would want such as Gold rating and being fully modular will be a bit more on a Corsair. Definitely have to thank you all, I am gonna take a leap of faith and hopefully it will last me. Dat 10 year warranty too. Thanks again

You need to remember EVGA only put cards in boxes they make very few of their own. And their mobo's are meh. I dont think Id buy an EVGA PSU tbh.

If you want gold and a good price look at the Corsair RM's

In fairness don't a lot of PSU brands pretty much just put their logos on PSU built by someone else?

Out of interest, who makes the EVGA graphics cards?

I'd stay away from EVGA personally. Their PSUs are made by a great OEM but I'd go for corsair, silverstone, antec and a personal fave, seasonic.

Does that include things like the Classifieds that aren't reference design?
And things like my GTX 670 FTW cards that are 670s on 680 PCBs?

I assume EVGA do make their own coolers though, at least the ACX ones?

I remember way back I bought an EVGA nForce 680i motherboard that was quite clearly an Nvidia reference/branded board with EVGA stickers stuck on it. Shockingly poor motherboard too.
Been really happy with the GTX 670 FTW cards though.

I'm really not sure if I'd get an EVGA PSU. Guess it depends on what my other options were.
