EVGA PRecision X 4.0 & KBoost.

So I enabled this, thinking oh boy, what a nifty sounding feature.

However; upon restart, all my system did was constantly lock up with random 100% CPU spikes. I thought maybe, just maybe I had a virus or some issue at the same time as it.

But, through the constantly lock ups, I managed to disable KBoost and restart...

and it all works fine again. Anyone else have issues with it like this?

I had issues with it the last time I used it yes.

It was clocking my second 670 to the max setting (1375 or something) and causing the issues you speak of.

I only had it installed for a fan profile but it seems there was something quite badly wrong with it so I removed it and went to Afterburner.

K Boost is meant to lock your cards to the maximum frequencies and power usage you have specified for them in Precision X. It is used to bypass the constant frequency adjustment and power changing features of GPU Boost 1.0 and 2.0.

You should not have SLi enabled when turning it on. After it has been enabled for each card separately you can then engage SLi, doing it the other way around can lead to some severe problems.

You'll find a user guide for the latest version of Precision X which has all the details of the new features and how to use them properly over on the EVGA forums (you may have to look in the Titan graphics cards section for it).

You know, I have eyes. I can read. I turned SLI off before turning it on.

Now I';m having an issue with my GPU's not clocking up from their default speeds. These latest NVIDIA drivers...might be an issue.

Testing fins that I have to disable / re-enable SLI each time to get my cards to clock...not sure if it's this new EVGA precision 4.0, or the new NVIDIA drivers, I updated both today.

Fair enough, I won't bother trying to help any further then as you already have all that you need to work out what is going on here.

You wont get eny help being like that with people on hear

Well, when they repeat information that was stated in the initial post, telling me something I told them I already did - I was merely informing them.

Most of the gripes I've seen about K boost on Precision X have come from people who didn't even realise that there is a set way to enable it properly. You only mentioned enabling it and restarting so I kind of had to start at the beginning. ;)
