EVGA 560 Ti very hot

Yeah I'd have to. I know nothing about folding. So silly question, is the gpu at max load all the time?

Folding @ home puts max loads on your CPU/GPU. I think in the latest version of the client you can control how much load f@h puts onto your system, whether this is true for the GPU as well I'm not sure. But it would be great if you could get that card folding :)

If there's any way you could possibly afford that 670 I really do recommend that one... I have Asus GTX 670 DCII 2Gb myself and OC temps are 67c MAX. It's cold outside now though and I guess it's going to run @70c when outside temperature goes up but I'm not concerned about those temps. And that performance, that's just awesome!

Yeah EVGA is pretty stout with their RMA procedures. Zotac is pretty good about it as well, but I think the guys that actually handle the product IN their RMA department could use some additional schooling... bad experience -_-.

As for the actual card selection, there are a lot of really good deals on GTX 670 video cards these days. If that's what you have your heart set on, then just save up for a bit longer and get that one, otherwise you won't truly be satisfied with your purchase ;-)

So I got a reply from EVGA, they said it did seem hot for stock setting but they are tested to 105C so it should be fine.

Stock its 1050mv and this is whats causing the issue. I amanged to get my temps to 75C with an undervolt to 962mv. It seems stable so far and temps are much improved.

Lol, I will. But what make? I'm leaning towards evga because of their customer service but I'm not sure. Not worried about loudness as ill be buying a water lock for it. But which 670 to buy?

EVGA FTW is a popular card. Uses a 680 PCB too.

I do have a soft spot for this one !

But MSI make a gorgeous card..

So it's a tough one tbh. In terms of warranty and customer service? they are pretty much evenly matched.

EVGA have excellent support (as you've seen) and are based in Germany. MSI? they really looked after me with a RMA so I would rate them both evenly.

I think the MSI just wins out on looks for me but the EVGA oozes class.

Edit. Having taken a closer look I actually prefer the EVGA for looks now.

I would assume the evga card can OC more because it uses the 680pcb and is a FTW edition so is more binned than the MSI card. If you were air cooling it would not matter but that is not the case:)
