Ergonomic office chair Or DX Racer M series.

So I'm moving in a few weeks and getting myself a decent desk, dual monitors etc.. The man cave I've always wanted!

But all I'm struggling with now is a chair......
I've been shopping around for chairs and obviously been looking at the 'gaming chair' types from DX racing and GT omega and so on but I also have been looking at ergonomic type office chairs.

Obviously I'm looking for a decent chair but can't decide if I want a flashy type gaming chair or a smart stylish ergonomic office chair. So if anyone has had experience with either type could maybe recommend a few brands and styles for me to look at would great :)

Cheers.

I have a DxRacer F series chair and I must say I absolutely love it.
If you don't spend a whole lot of time on the desk (I suppose you do though), you could go with a cheaper alternative as Dx chairs do come with a price tag for a chair

Yeah I spend fair bit of time at my desk, budget wise I think £250 max.

In that case from my personal experience I'd recommend you a DxRacer chair :)
For the type, you have to look at the charts they have for height/width etc.

I find the f series very good for myself, I'm 1.79m tall and on the skinny side

I have the DXracer M series, it is bigger then the f and supports more weight if needed, i absolutely love it, but it might be beyond your budget.

That's what I was looking at and I know it's slightly more than my budget but I could easily squeeze the extra ££.

If I remember correctly TTL him self had a white snazzy looking chair anyone know what brand that was?

I should be getting my DxRacer D series in the next couple of days so I can let you know about that one in comparison to my current chair (approx £200 executive style). I believe Tom's is GTOmega? Could be wrong though. From most of the comparisons I have seen, DxRacer appear to be built better than the GTOmegas though they are a little more expensive and imo look classier.

Lucky you :) I like to be. Sure before taking the plunge lol
And I don't mean the racing style seat he recently got I mean the White ergo chair.

DXracer chair owner checking in. :) I love mine too, and so does my old arthritic lower back! I'm never going back to a cheap office chair again. It's sturdy as hell, no squeaking, solid, etc. Can't say enough good words about mine! Can't remember which letter I own, but it's the sub-300lb one.

Yeah I'm hearing more good things about the DX and to be honest I've got my heart set on a black and white M series :)

Bit old picture but, Black and white M series.

So I just got my D series. What can I say? It's awesome, so much better than similarly priced "office" chairs. It's really comfy once you get used to the shape and is built like a tank. My only gripe is that the lumbar and headrest cushions are too thick but I'm a small guy so ymmv. Currently using the lumbar support as a headrest because its bigger and stays in place better.

If you spend the kind of money you would on a DXRacer, on a legit proper ergo office-chair, you'll get a much better experience, and a lot more for your money.

My thoughts exactly, I'm thinking I don't need to spend so much on a chair so have been looking at DX racer F series for £200 and a Ergo Tech mesh office chair for £160.

The DX racer being a chair that stands out but quite like the idea of having just a smart office chair, struggling to make my mind up :(

Depends what look you're going for (looks wise) - also depends on your posture. I tend to lean back to watch movies/videos etc. Suits the racer type with the head support Also good for gaming using HOTAS or a controller.

For FPS or Strategy games or office and productivity work my back likes the ergonomic office chairs. I spend 8 hours a day in one at work and it costs more than the dx style but my back thanks me for it. Also if you're in a hot country then mesh is nicer as it breathes and doesn't get sticky or sweaty. Of course if the chair is real leather and not PU it's not such an issue.

Basically you have to try them out and see. The DX looks nice tho..
