EggCard - gone!

Went to use it on Sunday for an online purchase, knowing full well there`s about £900 on it, with a limit in excess of £5k - didn`t work.

So I message them to find out if there`s something wrong with the card, what do I need to be sure it`s ok for when I goto the states in a couple of weeks (I like to have it as a fall-back incase I ever get a problem).. ".... we`ve decided to cancel any further credit for the card. Following a review of all our customers since Citi? takeover.... and we decided u suck!"

Hmmm, nice to tell me - good job I wasn`t actually in the states and relied on it to get me out of a situation.

Been with them since they were created and the only problems I had were of their making - agreed and corrected by them - to which I was told by them would never lead to anything against me credit wize.

No skin off my nose in that sense, but I thought that was kinda rude and of course a lost customer. It`s not like I have any problems or debt issues and I pay em money every month, or have been. Now I just pay this and I`m gone.

EDIT: I bet within a week of paying them off I get freakin junk mail through the door from then on asking me if I want a card.

heard about this a couple of months ago, they were getting rid of existing customers left and right

I can understand, in the ensuing climate, them both having this new Citi? (I`m guessing that`s CitiBank) interests that they want to look at the whole of their client portfolio and trim off those that maybe of-risk. Firms often umbrella firms when there is an existing problem - there could be something on the horizon - or they`re basically scared.

Just found it strange to fall into that category for them. A monthly income to them, without problem, since they`ve been in business. It`s not as if I was someone who`d maybe been out of work for a long period and built up excessive debts. I`d even had a loan off them a few years ago and paid it off early last year. Then again they don`t always like people who do that.

Meh, it might be worthwhile me checking into my credit rating and be sure there`s been no shinnanigans going on. Think at this point in time, the whole of my debt comes to about 6k-total and I`ve got a good 3k or so credit floating around in different accounts, and the difference is pretty negligable considering my salary also.

They dont want good customers, they want ones that done pay off credit right away for them to earn monies!

True.

It was in the news that good customers were having their credit cards revoked yet high risk customers were still being approved.

Gheys.
