Hey there OC3D Community I was offered a brand new set of these for about a 100 quid under the retail price brand new in the box I have had a look at them online but they seem to a "gaming" branded set and most people here say stay well away from anything gaming branded really so Im looking for some advice from those more in the know than myself

Ill be using them for everything from movies to music and gaming and everything in between if it was your money would you take them?

I have heard that they are supposed to be good, I use z5500's and from some of the V'S reviews on you tube they say that the s550's beat them.

I got them for Christmas a year ago when the price in my country was like 300 quid.

They are pretty descent for music. The midrange and highs are pretty good, but they are a bit harsh. The bass is a bit lacking though. The subwoofer does produce sounds under 40 hz, but the rubber things on the sides can't. They will vibrate a lot but you just can't hear them. If you listen to music like rock, they sound pretty good, but music like electronic doesn't sound as good since it often relies on the bass.

I mostly use it for watching movies and gaming since it obviously has a better soundstage than me ATH-M50s.

If they cost like 200 quid, I'd say they are cheap and you'd get a lot for the money

Just ask if you've got more question

If you want a good set of speakers also take a look at Corsair SP 2500's or even mine Logitech Z5500's

I have been looking at the Corsair's only thing thats put me off them is some of the Audiophiles on here recommending against them so I have two minds about where to go maybe Im just being too picky but I want these to last at least a couple years and dont want to regret buying them....

TTL himself will not use anything else than the Corsair's he had a set of Z5500's and said he couldn't care less where they are or what condition they are in as he loves the Corsair's that much!
