"EATX" in an ATX case?

As far as I can see, the only difference between ATX and EATX is about 50mm extra width (990FX-UD7 is 305x263, Z68-UD7 is 305x244, EATX spec is 305x330?) - or are the screw holes different? They don't look like they are, just seems to be extra PCB past where the screw holes are on the right hand side of the board.

In layman's terms, will a 990FX-UD7 (or a X79-UD5, which looks to be the same size) fit in a CM-690II? As long as the screw holes aren't in different places, there's plenty of room inside the case (I've measured).

The 990fx ud7 is a atx board, i think you can fit eatx boards in cases with some room to the side... like the rampage 3 extreme in the 600t i have seen that but you may want to get a second opinion

That's what I thought, but the Gigabyte website spec now says EATX (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3880#sp)

The screw holes look to be the same distance apart, and as inaccurate as it probably is, they measure up the same when you shove a ruler up to the screen

Cheers SieB, that looks exactly how I'd imagined it would, about half covering the cable holes

I think full EATX, with about 60mm extra would be pushing it, but that looks the same as the Gigabyte boards, with about 20mm extra, and fits in just fine.
