EA Origin Store

Yup, unless they let Dice do a proper job and don't rush them it's already in the pidgin hole for 'Could have been great, wasn't, was shit, don't reinstall'

DICE are a bunch of moneyhungry bastards as well, all the guys who made games like BF2 great left them ages ago (and work on titles like Payday 2). Also DICE and EA are so close that you cannot tell where EA begins and DICE ends anyways.
No hopes for BF, no hopes for Battlefront and no other game DICE or EA will ever produce.

I will create a game. It will be so popular because there will be no storyline. You will control a motionless stick figure in an endless white world, there will be no objectives. Just wondering around aimlessly, I'm going to submit it to Steam Greenlight, it will be greenlit and will go on sale for £12.99.

Hopefully I will retire by christmas.

Only if you release a "Do even less" DLC which disables the controls by Thanks Giving for $5.99

For me this is a tricky one to answer. First of all with that game Deadspace i think that was in the humble bundle thing for EA so that devalued that a bit, but i won't complain about that. They recently gave away Dungeonkeeper on GOG aswell, which i think was due to the uproar of the paywall phone/app version so with the tail between their legs...

With Origin i only own games from that bundle (the prices are insane! Remember when it was said prices would lower for digital?) I'm not a big fan of Origin, with Steam... I used to like it more a few years back, but have started to not buy as much (all the social features kind of annoy me, i just want to play a game etc...)

Having Steamworks titles locked to only be on Steam i dislike, even if you buy a boxed copy with a key and a copy of Steam on it. Don't get me wrong i do buy games on Steam, but only on huge sales (Which i've also noticed aren't as good... i remember getting STALKER the first two for £3.50 then a year or two later it was £5 or so etc...)

Uplay i have never used and kind of spited myself in the sense that i've had to not be able to play some cool games such as AC or anno etc... All of these clients really annoy me, and DRM and some of its forms make me refuse to (i remember Uplay wanting constant net connection for offline games... sod that!) The only way i could vote was with my wallet. But... Watchdogs is really testing my nerve. The same with Sim city always online crap... I don't like DRM at all (activation limits, always online and if any word of Securom then its a big fat no)

I tend to buy on GOG if i can, with it being DRM free and having an installer to keep forever on your HDD, but there aren't as many new titles ofc on there, but some great classics.

I'm going on, but DRM is my bane. I dislike it so much, and people who pirate these said games get a better version often (no net needed, keep on hdd etc...) So the fight seems to be against legitimate buyers of the product/game. It's crazy! But maybe i am! I just remember when we didn't have all these (bs) restrictions!

Yeah, do you download a movie or buy it and get forced to watch the "Do not pirate this movie because then you'll miss all this crap that you can't skip every time you want to watch it."

...logic. O_o;

i'll drink to that buddy

I watched star wars the special edition on VHS a few days ago just for nostaglia purposes on star wars day :D and I noticed something very odd, I seriously couldn't tell the difference between the VHS quality and DVD quality and it's not my eyes before anyone says ^_^

That would be because there isn't any.

In the UK VHS is (correct me if I'm wrong) 576p
DVD's are also 576 but had the option for pan and scan (stretched into widescreen) so effectively become wider for a more 16:9 ratio experience (why we have none square pixels in old video formats)

The only difference in quality, honestly, is that DVD's, being digital, either work or they don't where as VHS can degrade over time. :)

See if Mini disk had caught on I think that would of been a much better option mainly as the disc is protected and they could of easily increased it's capacity to that of a standard DVD f they wanted to.

Never been too keen on standard discs, DVD's etc... scratch way too easily plus to me they look really archaic.

aye its a real shame mini disk didn't catch on they were great, i don't think i ever had a broken one through my many years with two different mini disk players

And I think that's the main problem, DVD and the like get scratched easily so in their mind you would be more likely to purchase more DVD's than mini disks, Might sound a little conspiracy nut like but to me it makes logical sense ^_^

no it does make sense, you cant sell replacement for things that don't break often

You realise minidisks were just cd-rw's with compression enabled (depending on what you recorded) in a plastic case right?

They could re-release them using bluray laser tech and they'd be more like a current size dvd capacity (data-wise) :)

I miss the days of the VHS when we could fast forward through all the crappy adverts.

I always remember renting a film and thinking what if my vcr chews this up :p i think there was some kind of cheap insurance/£3 a year or something incase VCR went hungry ;)

Minidiscs were cool, i remember when i had one, until it went wrong, still got a few with various songs and some written music on them. Ipod kind of killed it off it's a shame as i liked them quite a bit back then!

Tbh Sub, i think that would be really cool, having a huge 4+gb minidisc!

Cool! Well i certainly won't compain at a free game! I never played this (Always wanted it to be like the console vs your friends version ;)

But i want dead space :( , when did the dead space offer end? anyone willing to give away spare copies?

Damn man, i don't think you can get gifts etc it was directly linked to your account. I'm sure it will be like £1 or something on Steam at somepoint!
