E-Commerce Builders

Hi all,

I hope this is the right area to post this thread. Has anyone got any experience with pre-built e-commerce site builders?

I built one using Shopify, over the two week trial period, but once that was expired I got an e-mail saying I could have an extended two weeks if I pick a price plan in the next three days. I got this e-mail on the Friday so I couldn't use my boss' card details at the time, I logged back in on the Tuesday and my site had been deleted! What?!

Should I go back with Shopify, or are there any UK based sites that have very good design templates and other features.

I need to build this site asap, as half of the money made from it (food products) will be mine. This is a big opportunity to get a lot of money, and have all the cars my boss does...well, maybe not.

Shopify is meant to be alright, but I think Magento has a 'free' version. It's a bit of a twat to style, but it's a pretty solid platform.

Another one that comes to mind is Click-cart-pro but I'm not sure if that's free...

Just did a quick google and found this too http://www.heroframework.com/

I make eCommerce sites (from scratch/using our own platform though).

Hit me up if you need any help with your payment integration

Sorry it doesn't need to be free. We're willing to pay for it. We need the space for products, and storage.

What could you offer for payment integration? :)

I can do sagepay, paypal, secure trading, worldpay and a couple others i can't remember the name of.

Had a little shop website a few years ago and we used opencart. Absolutely loved it, looked great and had all the options we needed. Definitely something you should consider.

Well I've just had an e-mail from Shopify saying you have two days to pick a price plan before your store is closed. I' am confused, since I must of entered the correct login details the other day for it to say your store no longer exists.

Just waiting on a phone call to get the card details so I can pick a plan. I'll let you know SuB if I need payment integration. We are going to use PayPal, but I'm going to let the lady who deals with accounts set up a business account first.

Paypal is a little bit of a faff and the fees are pretty high. You might find that Shopify has a built in module to turn that on though as it's pretty good like that.

Good luck, PM me if you need anything (I might miss the thread like i did until now)

I think they do have some sort of built in PayPal system. I need to figure out payment methods, if you select by card it gives so many gateways that I'm not sure what to do! :|
