dualband wifi adapter cant find 5ghz

Hey

I just bought the asus AC750 wireless PCI-E adapter to get wireless on my desktop. I'm using an Asus C7 AC1750 router and i can easiliy find the 5ghz on my laptop and my phone but not my desktop... I specifically bought the ac750 to get the 5ghz but it wont show? What should i do?

You have drivers and any proprietary software installed? pretty sure windows default won't bother installing any 5ghz drivers.

if you have above, run through driver settings make sure you have 5ghz enabled etc.

yeah, i installed the drivers. Where do i find the driver settings?

Hey, not sure if you found the resolution to your problem, but have you tried changing the 5ghz channel on your router ? I just had an issue finding the 5ghz network of my access point on my Sony Z5, it seems that after chaning the channel to a more centralised one my mobile can now pick it up. Some Wifi adapters are just unable to see all channels, not sure why though, im gonna invesitigate further into this issue.
