Dual loop in Lian Li A71

hey guys

im going to go dual loop in my Lian Li A71 (which is yet to arrive from ChilledPC......ordered it about 20 days ago - but meh) - neways....

1 loop = PA120.3, will go in roof, will cool CPU + grfx card. thats no probs

the probs im thinking i might have, is the second loop:

PA120.1, im thinking of having it in the rear of the case, attaching it where the 120mm fan is.

However......for you people who have had/seen the A71, i'm not sure a 59mm rad with a 25mm fan attached will actually FIT there without going over the mosfets.

The mobo is an asus maximus extreme, the stock waterblock has been taken off and replaced with custom water blocks for SB/crosslinx, NB, and mosfets, all have 1/2" barbs.

do you guys reckon that I might need to put the fan on the outside?

any help would be awesome - thx
 
tbh you really need to see the case to be sure but why not use a smaller rad like and xspc one - they are compact and would fit there a treat
 
Alternatively, you could mount the radiator on the outside and push instead of pull air through the radiator (small trade off).

There are already holes (visible in your picture) just above the fan that on my CM 1000 fit the 1/2 ID, 3/4 OD tubing as if by design.

This is how I plan on mounting my 120.1 radiator when it arrives later today!

ill provide the answer of how we with cybermaniac overcame this issue. Literally the rad wouldnt go inside, where the mobo exhaust fan is and we didnt want to have anything outside either. So

It looks like that bottom radiator is completely inside the computer case, not vented out of the case to dissapate the heat... is that right?

Assuming so, doesn't that adversely impact the efficiency of the radiator because the ambient air temperature (being used to cool the water) is being increased?

i'll be testing that on the next loop/leak test.

when i tested the loop (leak test) in a high ambient temp, the rad was fine, however, i've made a few adjustments to that setup as the rad seemed to have 1-2c higher ambient temps when it had a 40c case temp.

there are 2 120mm fans blowing into the case from outside, 2 fans pulling the air from those 2 fans into the HDD (as per A71 specs), and then i've also added a further 120mm noctua fan on the other side of the rad to keep things even cooler.

there are 9 fans in the system (low noise), 7 of them are on fan controllers, and the other 2 are on the mobo.

so the ambient temp should actually be rather low inside the case. due to the fact that the triple rad is on top of the case anyway, and the heat that is coming out of the grfx card (not a full water block), and the 120.1 will actually be taken away by the rear 120mm fan.

Essentially I've created a dual/triple heat zone. (I'll post more pics once the second loop is complete and I'm happy with it)

The only issue i can see thus far, is the heat from the rad being pulled towards the res/pump which will heat the ambient air inside the res thus increasing water temps.

Hey guys, nice pics... coming along nicely. Can I ask, what kind of hoses are those? I used 1/2 ID, 3/4 OD clear vinyl from the local Home Depot and it is very stiff and difficult to work with and around (crowded in case).

It makes sense if you are moving that much air in/out of the case that the in-case ambient change from cooling that radiator should be expelled quickly enough.

I used 1/2" Clear High Flex Hose (XSPC) from watercoolinguk and used the PrimoChill Anti-Kink Coils 3/4"- Black to help the kinking + looks.
