Dual Gainward 6800Ultra 512mb Watercooled

Yeah - XFX are releasing one soon as well. They are quoting £699 to buy one though. DAMN thats a hell of a lot of money! Stupid money really :(

very stupid. memory isnt really what matters in a gfx card as you prob know. you could just up the agp aperature and get near enough the same results.

I partially agree with that. The thing with the nVidia chips is that they take all the strain off of the CPU by processingsome of the physics and doing the rendoring on chip (as you probs know!). The way that GPU's are made with 16 pipes means that they basically have superior bandwidth to CPU's (that and the distance is a lot less). This means that the memory is not only higher, but is travelling much faster and utilising the speed of the pipelines by multi-tasking tasks such as pixel rendoring and to some extent physics rendoring.

I do agree that its hellish money tho!

GPU technology is one that is going to be used for some other applications and at the minute the GPU companies are trying to push the boundaries!

You probs know all this (I think its correct) so this is for anyone who is interested! :)

how in the hell did I miss this post? lol

that is one sweeeeet ass setup for sure.... 1500 euros though, ouch! i'd love to see what that pair of cards benches at with both em of oc'd to 450/1150 :D

that should be like 1800 $

its just to expensive and to come down.. You cant use it ATM. There wont b any Visible dif. In games we play today.

Btw as there gainward people be warned! There customer service is shit, and there cards *generally* are crap. Maybe not in this instance though! :worship:

least ur most likely gonna b covered by a warenty of some sort if the water block starts to leek....

The warranty probably excludes water damage as the owner of the card could install his tubing incorrectly no longer making it Gainwards liability. I'd say they're going to tell you to EAD if the cards get water damaged.

Funny thing, Kempez's one single pwnin card takes these and rapes them LOL.

Oh well.

I'm happy with my 6800. It's overclocked for me right out of the box! :D
