Dual Core CPU and XP Home - Help

My mate is planning to rewind to XP Home (no idea why, think it is so he can actually use the copy of Home be bought ages ago).

He uses a Dual Core E2180, and I remember hearing XP Home does not support dual cores, but something like AMD's Software (Live? something like that) enabled Dual Cores, which is why some people think it does.

In short, does anyone know if Home will use both the E2180's cores?

It's a tricky one mate, AMD has support but i don't know if Intel does. Anyway Home edition is a peice of crap, my laptop has XP Home and all I have is problems with spyware and viruses (with Avast installed) and never have any problems with my windows xp prfessional system.

To anyone I highly advise not to install Windows XP Home on any system, its more trouble than its worth

Agreed Home is a pain, had to reinstall it on my friends laptop last night and it is surprisingly different from Pro. I will again advise him not to go back, but he probably won't listen. Thanks Sleekit
