Gonna be going on holiday soon and i refuse to use anything other than my DT770s, for when i want a listening session.

Playing device will be an iPhone5, tried the DT's on it once and i have to have it on full volume just for me to hear something.

Anybody recommend me a portable amp please.
Budget is definitely <£80. Cheaper is better though.

Thanks in advanced.

Edit: Do i need a AMP/DAC or just an AMP?

got a fiio e10 with my d770s. can't complain

I love my FiiO E10, but it's not portable?

What about the FiiO E07k? Seen it on Amazon for £65 and it's a portable amp that works with computers as well as phones. It's not that small, but I'm assuming that its size won't be much of a problem.

Getting a FiiO's DAC to work through an iPhone isn't easy.

The digital source sends out encrypted signals - or something like that - so most unaffiliated devices can't get a digital signal from them. I used to be able to get it to work on the older iPhone connector using a camera connection kit, but I hear they no longer work.

Long story short, it's too much effort to get an external DAC to work on new Apple devices.

Look at FiiO's headphone amp range without a built in DAC if you want to save money. Tbh, the DACs built into iPhones are pretty good anyway.

Even the E06 for £20 should be alright.

I have a STX for home/desktop use. The question was really purely for portable out-of-house use.

I've just looked at the FiiO E06, wow its cheap but will it drive 80Ohms good enough?
What's the advantage of getting the E11 over the E06?

Edit: Just seen this over on the 'bay, its slightly cheaper than Amazon, what d'you think - too good to be true?

I'd have thought the E06 would be fine. 80Ohm really isn't much at all tbh.

If you do want to spend a little more on the E11 - I'm sure it will be fine from ebay. You'll probably notice a bit of difference, but since it's probably rarely going to be used anyway I'm not sure if I'd bother spending the extra money.

Could always get the E06 from Amazon as a test? If it can't power them well enough you can always send it back.
