you are right but doesn't AMP / DAC do the same thing ? Which is to handle the sound and give it to the user as surround and all. This is just what i assume. However, more accurate answer can come from people who own them. I am still looking at people's opinion and yet to decide. Surely your pointed is also noted.

@NeverBackDown i've decided to go with Magni 2 and modi 2 (non-uber version ) but i dont see a port for mic. I will be buying modmic 4 but cant find a place in the AMP / DAC to insert in. Sorry for being noob :l

I am also using a modmic from the motherboard and don't get hiss.

Although if you are streaming you'll need to setup the mic correctly or you will get hissing, but you can get rid of it.
