This is something thats been on my mind for a while but i can see it being difficult to implement

so never end up doing anything about it.

The problem:

I have space for 2 x 120mm fans on my door which inevitably when fitted are going to mean every

time i want to remove the door i will have to unplug the fans at the same time, then reattach them

again before closing the door. And i have the door off anything up to 10 times a day lol.

Now i can live with this i suppose

but i was trying to think of a clean elegant ways to solve this.

if i had a workshop with all the tools maybe i could do this, but i dont know how much i trust myself

to start hacking away at my new case with a dremel.

Solution = 2 small copper contacts on the case which are wired to a fan controller or other power

supply of your choice, and 2 more copper contacts on the door wired to a small block connector

to which the fans could be connected directly to. So when the door is removed contact is

broken, then when the door is replaced contact is made and fans resume work

EASY

Give me a few weeks and maybe ill give this ago, if i can make it work without hacking away at

my case.

Anyone else made any attempt at solving this, together we could change the future of door fans

id just make two easy plug in connectors u can easily deplugg when taking off the case door

cause with the contact u might have false contact problems issue's ? , not saying that will happen but ime the more connector type guy

I think I know a solution.

Just make sort of a frame for the fan so it's not atached directly to the case door.

That way you won't have to mess with hacking away ur case plus it won't be very hard to unplug the fan and then plug back in.
