Do PC World have peripherals on display?

We'll be leaving are printer for return one of these days so I was wondering if I should head on up aswell with my parents to see if they have any maybe mechanical keyboards/popular gaming mice. Looking to get some decent peripherals and want to try out some different switches to see what I like etc and I'm sure you're not in PC world much but it would be useful if anyone knows if they have peripherals on display.

I guess it may depend on the branch

They dont put any good ones on display - only the shitty desktop sets and 'consumer' mouses.

Literally the best you get - is the arrow keys left free of a cover on the Razer Blackwidow box. Tap those - see if you like the feel of a mechanical one just from that. That was enough to convince me to go mechanical.

You could - hypothetically - take advantage of Amazon's return policy and return something if you dont like it from there...

Then blame Josh Weston if that doesnt work out ^^ :lol:

I think overclockers.co.uk have like a "14 day satisfaction guarantee", but I think the product has to be returned as shipped i.e you can't unbox it. Maybe email them and see what the satisfaction guarantee gives you.

They charge £10 delivery though. I wouldnt want to be spending £10 on delivery to you, and then another 6/7 quid to sent it back.
Amazon should be cheaper - not that I'd do it anyway.

I'd just look at reviews of them - have a go with the black widow of the mechanical keyboard and listen to Andrew cause he knows what he's talking about when it comes to keyboards

Newegg has this thing called Shoprunner, not sure if it's available over in the UK. It's the greatest thing that's ever happened to me! I clicked a button that said "Free 30 Day Trial" to get free 2 day shipping on an order I needed fast. Then when I went to go cancel the membership before they charged me they said "WAIT! Here's a free 90 day membership!" So I'm like "OK sweet", and I got 90 days of Shoprunner. Then they emailed me saying "Place 3 orders and get a free year of Shoprunner!" So I made 3 orders in the 90 days and boom, I have a year of free 2 day shipping and free returns.

TL;DR: Shoprunner is awesome and I am easily excited.

All we have is Amazon prime, which is pretty much the same thing, but you have to pay for it. You get free next day delivery on anything that is actually shipped form Amazon's warehouses, and, as with all Amazon returns, the shipping is free.

Most of the forums here have deals with retailers for free next day delivery, and Aria have basically everything major I'd want to buy for my PC anyway...
Just choice on other items such as fans and accessories is a bit lacking

But the OC3D deal with Aria only counts for free delivery to mainland UK. Which is unfortunate as a lot of retailers do this and I live in Northern Ireland. In the UK just not on the mainland

keyboards are something which im beginning to look into in depth so far something to keep an eye out for is the actual keyboard switches. Im using a laptop at the mo and have not found a keyboard with the same type of feel as the one im using. basically a company called cherry make the switches. different colour switches provide different feedback/ feel for the user. there are some good vids on youtube demonstrating the different switches available and what the difference is.

Yeh - but I still maintain if you use something for long enough you'll just get used to it.

I use a laptop, iPad, Netbook and K90 on a relatively regular basis - so much so that I've just got used to using whatever is put in front of me. I like the features of the K90 - ie - backlit keys, nice sounding key presses, good brand, media controls... (and the same brand as my mouse) It made no difference to me how easy the keys are to press - and I dont feel picky enough about them myself to have a preferential keyboard that I prefer to type on. I honestly wouldnt have the first idea what classes MX red keys to be good at gaming, whilst mx blue are bad for typing (I'm just making that up here - no idea what the colours are actually good for - and cba to google )

Still, I'm happy enough with my K90 - didn't really need to get used to it that much, but I can use it fine now.

I cant understand how people are different to that tbh

I'm fully aware of what each switch does/how it performs and currently thinking of a brown because blue would make too much noise but I still would like the tactile feedback (I think). So that just leaves me with brown. Currently looking at ducky but can't find a website who delivers to the UK who stock ducky keyboards with brown switches (Aria only do red/black/blue switched ones -.-) so if anyone knows any other website that sells them let me know.
