I've been having some issues with my monitor not going into standby properly. The screen goes black but the mouse pointer appears in the middle of the screen and it remains this way until I move the mouse - the monitor doesn't go in to standby. I wondered if there was an issue with my DVI to HDMI cable so thought I'd use display port instead. Cheap ebay display port cable turned up today and worked absolutely fine right up until the point I tried to dual screen with my TV... PC then went in to a reboot loop and won't stop until I unplug one of the displays. It works fine with an HDMI-HDMI cable to AV amp and DVI-HDMI to PC screen but as soon as I try to use display port instead the loop starts. Anyone experienced this before? Cheap cable issue or something else?
