Display port Cable quality

I'm not even sure if this is the correct forum for this query but i'm wondering if there is a noticeable difference in the quality of display port cables. I just replaced mine with one from cable matters "gold plated 4k res ready". I really didn't expect to see such an improvement in the picture quality, sharpness. Or am I loosing my mind ?

Yes there can be. Gold plated really means nothing, that's just hype, but what matters is the amount of copper used in the wiring inside the cable. The more and better copper, the less chance of problems like screen flickering due to high refresh rates etc.

If what you say is true, then the amount and quality of copper in these must be on the high side.

Gold can make a difference in extreme conditions like when using long cables but it will only be a small difference.

As you say more and better copper is important.
