Designing a Cube case

it looks like its you Tox, Mraopc and maybe nunzio (waiting for reply) so 3 it is.

How about colors? any ideas guys? Carry handle?

do you want the top see through or the side/s?

Sweet,

I would like the top to be see through so I can look down on my setup. Mmm.

Not too fused on a carry handle.. might be to heavy for it to handle.

Colours... Mmmm, this is that hard part. Most likey to be black. But see what the others want.

top down window would be sweet

iv always liked the look of black mesh, so perhaps that could go on the sides and the glow from uv/cold cathodes could shine through (it would also help airflow?)

carry handle would be *BEAST*

the only reason id use another dvd bay was for fan controller or a res. Iv never had a fan controller but it would be sweet to be able to ramp it up/quieten it.

Colours...hmmm....black and red perhaps?

Black and green?

black is a cool colour, but other than black all i can think of is errrm...

ok I was thinking of solid metal(no perforations) for the bottom half. Perforated alum for the top half and a smoke plastic top cover.

With the triple rad it looks like 15.5" deep 11"wide and 10" tall.

(39.3cm X 27 X 25)

I havent heard anything from nunzio so Il just make the 2 for you and mraopc..

I can cut the depth down about 3" if you guys want a dual rad (a triple in a small case is pretty cool though)

does that sound ok so far?

since there are only 2 I can custom the colors for each one.

it takes less effort for me to make the real case than to try and make a drawing, lol.

I need to get the parts in front of me than I organize them into the best order for airflow and weight distribution.

Il get a model tues or wed for you 2 to see, than you will have a week to make changes and chat about things you forgot.

Hello Nunzio, are you saying you want one of these cases? if so I may be able to work in 1 DVD and 4 Hdds or 2 Hdds and 2 DVDs but not sure on 2 DVDs and 4 Hdds.

Once I start laying the parts out I will be able to say for sure.

Either or I aint fussed.

Tox et al, what about the Qmicra v2 case? Fits full ATX/8800GTX sli without modification plus a double rad... You HAVE to get stealth on the drive bays or it looks gay.

Thanks for the post Mr Smith. I always welcome other opinions/designs etc as my master plan is to improve computing. I am really tired of same ol stuff after all these years.

The main prob with the case is its more of the same old stuff. If you look close you will see its just like the Qpack but bigger. Airflow is silly, its got the good front vents than it has the side ones but all the hardware is in the way. Also like Nunzio pointed out its a mATX.

Another prob is by putting the PS above the mobo you still have all the clutter of the wiring all over the top of the comp.

Finally back home, in the next day or so I will make up the model of the case. Now is the time to speak up on what you want on ur cases
