Hello All!

I Promised a few Pictures, so here they are, I haven’t Done anything much to it YET but it’s Dell so you can’t blame me! So Far 2 Exhaust Fans have been added, One Blue LED Aero Cool and one UV (god knows what make) that my mate had lying around, Temp display in the Front, and a UV Cathode or Light WHATEVER you want to call it :D

Sorry for Lack of Close-ups. It’s only my 5MP camera from the mobile!

Upcoming Updates.

Previous: 375W > Upgraded PSU (450-500W)

Heatsink, (ANY SUDGESTIONS FOR DELL XPS420??) 

Previous: 3.0 RAM > Upgraded RAM (4.0)

Corsair Dominator Airflow Fan.

Fan for the Hardrives (I’ll have to make a bracket.)

Thinking of Lapping the CPU... (Advice if I should, I know how!)

Nothing I can really do with the Cables, I WOULD like to, but yet again, its dell so you can’t swap cases, without getting a case, which opens on the right side. But overall, it does me the Job!! But that will properly be the end that I’m going to be doing on THIS pc. As soon I’m starting a Build but I’m taking it easy, and not rushing it, I’ll take pics along the way for you! But I doubt it will even come close to this, as yet again it’s off of a mate, but we'll see what I get!!

Dell cases are really weird, if you can turn on the flash or when its light and get some close ups :)

Agreed, they always seem to have wierd blue/green plastic bits tacked on everywhere.

Just wonder why do oyu upgrade your PSU when you don't need more power, second is which windows on your pc? 32bit or 64bit. If 32bit you don't need up grade to 4Gb ram (you won't get any benefit from 3Gb to 4Gb with 32bit os). You coud upgrade CPU heatsink like Freezer7 Pro but make sure you board can fit it. Del use thier own board design (BTX, its not an ATX) so make sure you buy anything fit it before you buy.

I actually found out yesterday, Im not going to do the PSU, Nor the RAM, as you said, I have 32 bit, so there would be no point, Im still going to Upgrade the Heatsink, but as also what you said, YES its a Dell Motherboard, and I HATE it! so i wont be buying dell anymore! I'll be Building them in the Future, I was wondering if you knew any Heatsinks which would fit it, as i have NO idea. Ive looked on the Dell Website, and Nothing to do with heatsinks there, i might not be looking enough!

iirc the cpu heatsink is just a heatsink with a exhaust fan covered in a plastic casing, well it was in my brothers tell, since it's a dell mobo etc it probably has its own mounting system.

tbh mate, save your pennies and upgrade :)

If your cpu is Intel LGA775 and I pretty sure any HSF support Intel LGA775 socket will fit on yor board ( Arctic Freezer Pro& will serve you well). If you want 100% sure just give the retail shop where you gonna buy a call to make sure. Hope it help you ;)

PS: Starrt to save money and built your own :)
