Dedicated Folding Rig

Cheers for that guys, I ended up just downloading the console client and set it up maually as per the other guide instead.

The console is just the same as the Linux one, and I'm pretty used to DOS & consoles etc. What kind of PPD would you expect out of a 2500K? (mine is clocked @4.4).

Hey guys, I've been doing some more thinking about this dedicated rig. If you were to say run a 2600k overclocked to say 4.4/5, how sensitive to amount and speed of memory is the folding client, assuming its run under Linux?

So 4GB or 8GB?

1333 or 1600?

TIA.

I'd go for 8GB 1600MHz with tight timings.

And CPU speed makes a big difference on Linux when Folding (more so than on Windows, IMO).

Cool thanks for that, the price difference is minimal as well.

How do you think the upcoming 3770K's will perform folding wise? 77W TDP & ~10% faster than 2600K.
