Current or next gen?

Hey guys,

Should I get two 780ti's?

I have been reading here and there, I cannot make a decision whether I should get two 780 ti's now or wait until next gen cards come out.

I know its hard to say how well a 780ti will compare against future gen cards, but how long do you think I will last with two 780 ti's?

Should or shouldn't I wait for next gen?

Any relevant information will be appreciated as this has been bugging me for the past few weeks.

Cheers

No matter what you buy, it will be outdated within the next few months. It's up to you if you want them now, or want to wait for the next gen.

Tbh we're at a point where the gpu's are ahead of the games so I would hardly worry unless you're wanting to run 4K or something. If you wanna buy 2 780ti's go for it... please make sure you're gaming above 1080p though ^_^ and a decently branded PSU (750/850W). Heck a 3 and a half year old GTX 480 can play BF4 on ultra with AA at 1080p with decent fps.

Two 780 Ti's should be more than sufficient for at least a couple of years. Upcoming titles should be more optimized given the emergence of Mantle and DX12 (It'll probably be a while before we see a DX12 compatible game). Having said that, even without the optimizations the new API's will bring, two 780 Ti's should have no problems running any game at 60+fps for the foreseeable future.

So, to answer your question, getting two 780 Ti's now is not a bad decision by any means.

Yeah man, fully understand! - Although I am still investing a lot of cash so don't want it to go to waste :)

what resolution will you be running at? @ 1080 x2 780 Ti is going to be massive overkill

2560x1440 - The monitor I game on
2 x 1920x1080 - Side monitors (Rarely play games on all of them).

TBH I don't think I will play on 4K for atleast another 2 years. I just got my current monitor setup and am 100% happy with it and will last me a long time.
