hi , my pc is 2gb d1, cpu:2600+ amd , graphics card : ASUS 4870 HD 1gb D5

i cannot run crysis warhead on full settings, and nba 2k9 everything is high ,but when i set palyer to ultra high it runs so slow.

what do you think i should upgrade, i mean my graphics card is new and great.

I'd say you need a new CPU as a 2600 of any socket will be bottlenecking the 4870.

It will probably invole a memory and motherboard upgrade too however.

isent his cpu a single core? also am2??? yes a new CPU is the best bet mate as above mentioned,if its a single then AMD dualcores can be picked up for very cheap so that would save on the mobo change

what is the mobo your currently using???,also xp or vista 32 or 64 bit?

CPU is deffo the 1st thing, just stating it still wont play on max after though, but it will play a heck of a lot better than now.

:) I got my 4870 playing @ enthusiast level @ Crysis Warhead, which is EXTREME. Came out with graphics on card set to MAX including 2xAA and I got a nice steady frame rate 25-60

Id hardly say 25-60 was steady. And 30+ is what Id call playable.

He was also talking about MAX not reduced which is what I commented one.

25fps @ bushes/explosions, then up to around 38-42 in places that are open. Then 50-54 for indoor/caves.

That's stable to me, wouldn't flick to 40 then to 25 lol, that is not stable I know. Crysis with 20fps is still playable. Yet to meet anyone who could maintain a playable frame rate. In games 30fps is really really laggy. Games normally run at 60-125fps.

30 suffices in most games but when it comes to hardcore/serious first person shooting, you want 60fps.

Sports games too.
