Cryengine 3

Bit late at announcing aren't we? I saw this yesterday and talked to someone (I think's it themcman1) about it.

No offence btw.

It doesn't seem to have much improvement over CryEngine2 but if it can run a Crysis-esque simulation on the consoles then it will surely be appealing.

Most differences I see would be HDR and Bloom effects more enhanced.

Well everyone probably doesn't check the gaming websites every day for updates and stuff, unlike yourself most likely.

But yeah, looks the same sort of, but as you said, consoles (espically the 360) uses HDR and bloom to hide the lack of AA on the games.

Can't see any significant advancement over CE2 tbh, but I suppose they realised the potential of tapping into the console market, Some of the stuff looked slick, but the physics on that bridge collapse was definately more animation than live calculation.

Unless it was rendered on the PS3 with it's Cell lool.

Yeah, there isn't much improvement over CryE2 but like you say, this one is designed for consoles and is modular, so they can update sections of it and just make that bit better, like UnrealEngine
