i beleive CRT's are much better than LCD's because as was in that other thread by XMS with all the pro's and cons you can still by a CRT for half the price of an LCD and they will last you alot longer, anyway they are trying to phase out production of crt in the next few years which is disapointing

I am a CRT fan myself.

Yes TFT's take up less space, but so do mini-atx cases, and i dont know anyone thats into computers that would consider getting one.

IMO, keep TFTs for offices that need the space, and people that complain about their eyes - and keep CRT's going for the people that care about crystal clear quality :D

Furry muff then. If I had a bit more room than a poxy little comp desk in the spare room then maybe I would have cinsidered a decent CRT...but I didn't and now my PC is headed for the lounge of my new flat....it just looks better than a CRT. Plus the image quality on my new TFT is better than that of my crappy old CRT!!

Good CRT's rock....but for me TFT's are an elegant solution to the problem of "space"

And on the subject of mini-itx cases - practicality is one thing....but basically cutting performance is another. ;)

Yeah TFT's are ideal for situatiosn like that. I have to say tho, the best screen i ever used was a 21" Sony Flatscreen TFT....it was soooo gorgeous.

To me it all depends on the quality of the TFT in question... Some TFT's are absolutely amazing and I'd prefer it over a CRT.

CRT's are like 85lb 2x2 ft bricks that hog up an entire desk. You can get nice TFT's for less than nice CRT's these days. It won't be long before CRT's will be a thing of the past... yahhhooooo! :D

*cough* Hyundai ImageQuest L90D+ *cough* :worship:

I don't know now... Lol... I have so many obligations to uphold recently.

I have $900 I have to spend on plane tickets and a new sport coat for my best friends wedding, I have my cell phone bill and my laptop bill coming up which are always enormous, and the Venices are shipping on May 6th from Monarch so I have to preorder my 3800+...

By the time I actually get ready to buy my TFT there will probably be something better on the market, lol. I'm really diggin that L90D+ though, it's so sick!

Why not buy a HD ready LCD TV if your PC is going in the lounge, most of them have DVI connectors on the rear so you can get plenty of bang for your buck.

the only drawback is that no one can watch TV while you are on the PC but heh buy them a book to read and the problem is sorted.
