This i how a proper volt mod should be done:lol:

8800GTX with double evga epower board:D

Besides looking like a beast it now has no cold bug:)

Could someone talk me through what I'm looking at? Apart from a GPU which has two big boards sticking out of it?

I would imagine that its the "with double evga epower board" metioned in OP.

It looks soldered to the board, with very heavy duty wire and alot of solder.
There are no sockets for the 2 additions to the main board, so the connections are soldered in place.

Also it has no cooling installed, which makes no sense..

I dont understand how this can work...

What he will do is insulate the board to make it immune to the cold and condensation, he will then install a big copper LN2 pot which he will use to cool the core all the way down to -192c.

Also Rasmus mate you need to make your way down to the UK for the LN2 meet next month, would be good to see you there :)

can give us a test? a benchmark? and finally, in overclocking does not matter than a small measure voltages and currents, but the most important frequencies and number of transistors.

It works just fine.

The idea behind the epower boards is that you solder them directly to the main power supply on the gfx. There is a much stronger power supply on the epower boards that can handle a ton of voltage.

This gfx is only for benchmark use and it will never work like normal again. I will update this thread as soon as my friend zzolio starts benching it.

Here's the link you were trying to put in mate : http://hwbot.org/user/zzolio/

Also I didn't realize this was going to be zzolios card, he has been putting up some really nice scores recently and is pushing hard for a top 3 spot. Only a matter of time really before he ends up in the Pro OC league.

How did you get rid of the CBB then? I assume that bypassing the old power stages and increasing the voltages has something to do with it?

You certainly can mate. All you'll need is a couple of variable resistors, some wire and a molex connector to get a full volt mod done. The molex connector would be used to measure the voltages.

This project blew my mind! Does it even function? I would guess that it is running in an LN2 tub ;D
Awesome project mate!
