CPU Upgrade Help.

Hello everybody,

First of all i would like to share a video of the problem that i am having with my computer and then explain the details.

Video - (Recorded with my iPhone 5 so not great quality sorry.)

Okay so let me explain, i have had this system since January of 2013 and it has always run completely fine but i thought it was time for a processor upgrade this christmas i got an i7-3770K just for a step up from my 2500K and so that i had a spare for a LAN pc i am currently building. But after installing the 3700K i got this problem, so i sent the CPU back assuming that it was faulty. After recieving my refund i ordered another 3770K (this time the OEM version) from another website (Overclockers) and now i have the same problem again.

The system run FINE with my 2500K installed and in my motherboard manual and online it says that my processor is compatable (Specs are in my signature)

Thankyou for any replies in advance.

Luke.

Edit - I have now also tried resetting with the CMOS battery removal still to no avail.

Try and reseat all of the power cables mainly 24pin/8pin eps.

If that doesn't work I would have to assume one or more pins on the socket are damaged/bent.

i agree with boon, install the 2500K back into the system and see if it runs or not. if not then i would assume an issue with the motherboard (maybe a bent pin?).

Okay guys i got it sorted last night , i took my ram out and tried one stick - didnt boot, tried the other stick - booted! Tried both again - booted! really strange and i dont know why it worked but it did :)

Awesome. I was going to mention checking the ram but you didn't say you'd touched it.

Good that it's sorted tho! :-)
