CPU LED, Random shutdown.

Hi everyone,
yet again its me,
i have been having troubles with my computer as my computer has ben acting funny, didnt know where to ask this as there i also some graphics card issues and network issues.
for example, on most days but not all days, i may be doing someone or playing a game or watching youtube on my PC and it just randomly shuts down, not the normal way, it shuts down as if someone just pulled the plug out, and everything stops, and then sometimes when it try and boot it up again the CPU LED stays on, on the motherboard, so i dont know if there is a CPU problem.
One of the other problems is that my P doesnt always connect to my network properly, so sometimes it comes up with "network 3" rather than "network 2" i dont know why this is, but i normally fix it by either reseting my router, or reseting my PC.
I dont know if it something todo with files i have downloaded like maybe i have got a problem with something i downloaded with malware that kaspersky is telling me about (im going to sort that out soon) but it also started when i started folding at home. around that time, so im not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Check your 8pin power cable,
Reseat your ram and try the different slots
Else check the mobo isn't shorting on the rear of the case recall hearing similar probs with this board and its CPU backplate with different case CPU cutouts.

How do I check if its shorting out on the case. And how do I fix it?

what is the case if you know?

if any of the motherboard is connecting to the chassis that it is screwed into, other than at the points where it is actually screwed into, then best bet is to look at why, but you can do a tide you over job with some electrical tape, and cover the parts that are coming into contact.

best bet to look at the other things first, like you have a spare psu to run the pc on, have you checked your extension cable is ok, the kettle lead from the psu is ok, not frayed melted etc..then possibly try taping over any possible contact points, and then afterwards think about looking for a new case.

OK, i think CPU has died after it shorted out on the case, and isnt booting now, is there any way to know for sure it is dead or any way to fix it?? if not i need a new CPU, used probably, but would you recommend i get a new motherboard??

only real way to check is to drop it into another motherboard.

is your psu spinning up, or is just no response whatsoever?

To make sure that its dead or not, take your motherboard out of the case and set it down on a table (no cloth) or a cardboard box.

Connect everything back up as normal (just not in a case) just be careful with the videocard, in fact if you have on board graphics, try that option first.
Plug in the PC internal speaker so that you get an audible error code.....and boot and see what happens.....

ok, it all works when i take it out of the case, but when i put it in the case it doesnt work. any ideas on what to do, i will try using eletrical tape or duct tape in the case to stop contact with the motherboard/cpu. and other suggestions on how to fix it?

If it works in the breadboard style (Case-less :lol: )

First place I'd be looking at is the motherboard Standoffs, make sure everything is secure (tight, is probably the wrong word for it)

Try putting the Motherboard into the case and hooking up the bare minimum (OS drive drive only, PSU cables, VideoCard cables) - Dont connect the fans etc.....bare minimum.....

Basically Trial and Error, there's got to be something there that your PC just dont like.

I have... I with only motherboard and CPU and ram... Plugged it in... Nothing else and it doesn't work... I think its to do with the case or motherboard making contact maybe...

Do you have any nylon washers? Mount the washers between the Motherboard screws and standoffs see if get the same.

Do you think it is a motherboard issue or a case issue... Cause its a very cheap case.
ok, update. it doesnt work inside or outside the case now. the CPU Led stays on. so i dont know what it is, but i think it might be a motherboard issue in my opinion. any ideas on what i can try, i have no spare cpu's or motherboards. i only have one case. is there a way to find the problem.

Would you advise me to buy a new motherboard or a new CPU??
