Ok guys/girls we all know cpu kits are getting hard to get hold of so what are we all going to do about it sell our prometeia's off cheap "HELL NO!!"

We will make our own cpu kits so I think we should have a compatition and see what we could come up with?

I know p4 kits can be modded to suit skt 754 etc and I know some people can make there own I have started on making a 64/fx kit out of nylon it is a little thinner than an original kit but as thick as a p4 kit and yes when I get my new mobo and cpu I will test it as I am crazy insaine like that so has or can anyone else come up with an alternative????

I also hope to have some pics b4 too long:eek:

ok a couple of unfinnished ones as no mobo yet to drill holes

It has been discussed in another topic :)

thing is a CNC machine would be needed to make some decent ones with a similar idea in mind...

The one you have made is obviously a prototype of a copied a64kit

thing is...you need an edge arround the plastic frame.

First of all for so that there is some clearance for the cpu kit arround the motherboard so that the metal frame doesnt touch the mobo...+ so that the seal string can be applied..:)

For me the design of some future sockets such as the LGA socket would be very interesting to design...it might be pointless though since the alderwood and gransdale boards have overclocking locks..

well you cant see it but there is clearance from the metal clip to the mobo and the only place there is an edge is on the sides the rest is nearly solid it is easy enough to cut an edge into it all the way around with a dremel but you are correct it is a proto type and with a little thicker nylon it would be an exact copy of the original
