CPU Dead?

ok i need some info on this

last time yesterday i stress tested with prime95 and as soon my CPU hitted a temp of like 62c it bsoded is this normal at all? and now i notice all youtube videos or whatever i do it on it it just lags FPS dropping in games etc so idk whats happening all this using 195.62 drivers for my GPU at Windows 7 64-bit hope you guys can help me

Have you removed the overclock now? The lag might be because your windows has corrupted or something

the weird thing is games run fine now it only lags at youtube videos games like combat arms run fine wth everything on max

cleared your bios so there is no overclock? might be a stability problem

well it does the same when its on stock speeds so idk what it s :S

definately try a fresh install, and also reset your CMOS, as it may be a rogue setting that you've forgotten to change back.

yeah exactly what i was going to suggest, you can just take the cmos battery out then put it back in and see how that works mate

tho i dnt even need to take out the battery i just push the cable out of the PSU and it resets itself but tho even if i reset things it will do the same

so you have took the batery out mate? ive never experienced the cmos gettin reset from pullin the power cable out

well that happens by me it resets by me when i plug out the cable it doesnt rly save them

thestepster i have another problem now my pc has been a bit hot the last days running atleast almost at 50c idle i can smell something burning in my PC cos my case is hot too and i can smell that its hot started to do this the last few days :S

do you have some thermal paste? it sounds like u need to take your cooler off and put it back on again cause the tims prob gone and needs done again if you have the stock cooler then it will be a thermal pad and those things go hard and crusty after a while you will need methylated spirits, nail polish remover or isopropyl alcohol 70+ to remove it from the heatsink and cpu, here's a link to show you how to apply and remove thermal paste

whats the cooling like in your case? many fans do u have? what kinds of fans?

i have the Zalman CNPS 7000B-Cu CPU Cooler i have 1 exhaust fan in my case kind of Tacens Aura Ice led fan its like 120 mm

nope not at all even the HDD's almost hit 50c
