CPU 4-pin extender

OK so I need a 4-pin ATX 12V extender for my CPU cable on a corsair HX520W before I can fit my Xigmatek Cooler. However when I try and find them online, they all start off at about £2 and then with postage end up about £8 which is ridiculous for something that cost 5p to make.

Anyone know the best shops that would stock them [anywhere in Manchester is an option] so I don't have to pay extortionate postage? I'm not bothered if it looks naff, I'll be sleeving the cable :)

I'm looking for something like this btw:

I don't know if you're handy with a soldering iron, but it shouldn't be too difficult to cut the wires, solder a wire in between, insulate it and solder the other end. There might be a reason not to do this, but if you use a decent thickness of solder to reduce the resistance it should be do-able. Does anyone know of any reason not to do this (aside from it looking not very professional)?

@ Diablo: I would do, but the cables on my Corsair are already sleeved pretty nicely and it has a 5 year warranty which I intend to keep lol.

@ Bloomerz, that's the best price I've seen so far if it does come to delivery so cheers :)

given maplins a try? they usually have stuff like that.

If not then online, try find something else on there you need to make the postage worth while.

KustomPCs usually isnt too bad with postage, maybe a quid or two, but still coming to the £6 top mark which I agree is too much. For wire if you have an old PSU try to use the wire from that so it is the correct gauge etc
