Corsair H100

Hi there

Does anybody know what the best fans to stick on a H100 radiator are. after watching a few reviews including the TTL review the fans that come with are very noisy. what would be a better alternative that not only is quieter but give better cooling results to this cooler?

If anybody could answer this it would be appreciated as im about to embark on a second build and i'm giving the H100 by Corsair some consideration.

In terms of "best fans" All depends on how much noise your willing to accept. I'm using Silver stone Air Penatrators and really like them even under heavy load they keep the temps down pretty low. I'd recommend them, The Noctua NF-F12 would be a pretty good choice as well if you can stand the colours. If your looking for even better performance Scythe gentle typhoons are probably your best bet. Good choice and not using the corsair fans they suck and are too loud of my taste.

Honestly, when the fans are on the lowest setting I can barely hear it. And my CPU temps average 50 on full load with an overclocked 2600K. I also thought I would have to buy additional / different fans but it's not as bad as people make it out to be.

Thanks shift87 I'll definately be taking a closer look at those suggestions. I pretty much know what i would get of the noctua fans as my current cooler is an NH-D14 but those gentle typhoons sound great.

it'll kinda depent on you on what noisey is from what case you install the H100 kit into. some cases are quieter than others.

recommendations i've used are:

corsair stock fans

noctua NF-12P

noctua NF-12F

Scythe Slipstream AP-15

Bitfenix Spectre (a lil slow on fan speed, but client like them)

Cougar CF-V12H

so i'd build it and then look into what fan might do a better job.

I plan on buying a H80 and using the stock fans I hope it's not as bad as people make it out to be

unless you have a case that cannot support the 240 radiator, i'd be a small investment to go for the H100. we would like to know. the cooling betterment over the H80 is

as tom puts it "ginormous". i think it was 5-7° idle and 10-12° loaded @ max fan/pump (i might need to be corrected).

i recently changed my stock corsair H100 fans with noctua's NF F12's

according to noctua designed to be used for that purpose and hindsight i can totally agree !

their pricey but worth evry penny to me

but theirs more cheaper and equally good options but again as i said before

can only comment on that i have experience with

now ur asking me something ...

but ime quite sure it shaved of a degree or 3 because atmo ime doing

25 ish idle

30 - 31 ( battlefield 3 ultra settings )

maybe, huh..usually i do a change and find out how well or worse he change was. parts buying can get

expensive. and if they do not perform correctly, then i'd have to research why. i'm sure others may have

had a similar issue or remark. that is why the information is necessary.

glad you are happy with your purchase.

true totally understand , just got em cause they would easily perform better and would be alot more silent

i do notice a substantional decrease in noise and performance

i bought em trough a suggestion in another thread of someone picking these for his H100

I 'd say get the h100 and try it with stock fans. u won't need to run the fans at full voltage/speed all the time. if it's still noisy then go for better ones

The H100 is absolutely fine without any additional or replacement fans! Just buy the freakin thing to see for yourself, and if you aren't happy, get new ones.

No point getting the H80 when the H100 is $10 more.

Only Point i can see in the h80 is in case your case doesn't have the 240mm spacing in the top....

I use 4 x Arctic F12 PWM fans with my H100. The temps are good and it's nice and quite. I think the fans were £4 each if I remember.
