Corsair H100 Thicker Radiator Coming Soon?

Hey guys, was wondering your thoughts on having Corsair bring a thicker radiator to the market for the retail H100 series a la the H80.

do you think it would help temps enough to make it worth the additional cost?

I'm surprised that we haven't seen one come out yet, however Corsair must have done some testing on using a thicker rad.

From the looks of the recent water cooling kit reviews by Gary (Big ups to my main man) the difference may be too small to invest in a new product line.

Of course there is the problem of over crowding in the standard size atx case.

As Tom has said, the CPU might not max out the Rad loop on a beefed up H100 so the only benefit may be that you can turn down the fans to deadly silent. (paraphrasing)

Still might be cool, plus bonus damage for e-peen.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Can they even? After all, Corsair don't manufacture the Liquid Coolers themselves, but let CoolIT do it... And they are currently being sued for patent infringement which could result in some major problems for Corsair and their watercooling lineup...

To be honest - I really don't rate the Corsair coolers at the moment.
I've heard of so many problems with them from reading the forums, and my own one wasn't particularly great either.

I don't think there's a particularly big demand for them either. In order to fit a thicker rad in most cases, you're going to need a full tower case, and you a bit mad if you're getting a full tower case to put an AIO cooler in it. There's just not a big enough market I don't think to justify them doing it, and bringing it out as what would be their best performing, and flagship cooler.

Silverstone have a few out with a thicker rad - may be worth looking into them?

WOw I didn't know about that d3rrial. THats hilarious :-D

Well maybe now they will have to come up with something original.

I like the idea of No-maintenance, set it and forget it... until a full system upgrade of course.

It will be interesting to see what develops.

Swiftech is stopped shipping H220s to the US market after some confortation including patents with Asetek(i think). There was a thread about it earlier.

Your Welcome!

Giving credit where credit is due. ;-P

Its been a long road, but my idea has finally been realized.

I want to thank Corsair for taking my idea and bringing it to light.
It wouldn't have been possible without their help.

Also, I'd like to thank the OC3D forum for nurturing an environment where no idea is too outlandish.

Here's to another successful year of discourse and discussion from the community.

Cheers!

No plans at this point, but if we ever decided to make one - We'll definitely let you guys know.

What about a 360mm version of the H100i ? I know I would buy it straight away.

Swiftech have their H320 360mm AIO out so why not Corsair ?

A friend of mine has the Swiftech H320 AIO and it looks great and performs great but he replaced the fans with Corsair SP 120's ^_^ -

I couldn't think of a reason why we wouldn't. I guess It's just up to our marketing team, if they see a huge market that is worth grabbing for this cooling platform, I'm pretty sure that they would pull the trigger right away. Right now, we are really focusing on 120/140 and 240/280 spec, which imo is still a dominant part of the AIO coolers. But as always, plans can always change in the future.
