Corsair AX1200 is chosen for Dream Machine 2010

My buddy, David's rig is more powerful then that minus the RAM. He got 12GB Mushkin Redline RAM. He got two [font="Verdana, sans-serif, FreeSans"]5680's, four GTX 480's, two Mushkin 1200W PSU's, EVGA SR2, Mountain Mods case. A bit more powerful minus less RAM, but who needs 24GB RAM?

OMG that thing looks F-ugly

That was not nice... He's changing to a modded 800D as we speak. I agree it's not very beautiful, but it's powerful none the less. And he just got too much cash. Trust me, he knows a lot about computers. That rig cost him over $10k.

I call jealousy! To all of.. Ehrm... Both of you!

An 800D omg dude its going from bad to worse

And he knows what he can put in a rig, not what actually works.

Quad sli is pointless for anything but benching. Some games perform worse with 4 cards :S

Only got to read reviews matey, Ive had 4 recently and its a complete waste of time drivers dont support 4 for games very well at all.

He knows all of that. He was going for the best so he got four GTX 480's. And he says he enjoys benching, but he doesn't have many videos of it. The modded 800D isn't such a bad idea. It's fully water cooled so heat isn't that much of an issue, it looks nice and it will fit the SR2. Trust me, David knows a lot. Don't want to say this, but from the little I've spoken to you he's way up there. He's been doing PC stuff since the '80s if I recall correctly. You can ask him about anything regarding PC and he will know it.

Please dear god tell me hes not putting it all on one radiator!

You obv admire him and he has spent a silly ammount on kit. But sadly mate thats all he has done has bought all the top end kit. The Corsair is a terrible choice for that rig. And Id love screen shots showing the GPU's maxxed out and the temps.

Theres no way that single koolance thing is keeping them cool.

thats awful i dont like the color scheme

cant them high end koolance external rads do quite a good job

total pointless beyond anything, 10k not wisely spent IMO

and dude get your tongue out his ass

Owning a quad card uber setup means compromising every day, having lackluster performance and generally wishing you had given half the money to somebody to kick you in the face for being so stupid every other day. The problem with all these Nvidia PR generators are that they never live up to the hype and the owner ship experience is sheer hell on about half the days.

At some stage someone is going to realise that you need several pcs to do all the stuff these machines try to do. And its not even as though he's going to break any bench records with it, as some nutjob with corporate sponsorship up the wazoo will get a four card setup, the SR2 and a few gallons to liquid helium. Granted it will never run stably for more than ten minutes and it will break down in two days, but it will break records.

He uses that Koolance thing. And it does keep it all cool. Look at his videos and you'll figure it out your self.

I don't really admire him, all I'm sayin' is that he knows his stuff. So check out his videos and you'll see...
