Corsair Air Series SP120 High Performance Edition fans

I bought some Corsair Air Series SP120 High Performance Edition fans. I put them onto my KÜHLER H₂O 920 and the temps dropped about 4-5c from the fans that came with it. The noise is a lot better too. Anyone else try out these fans? The fans feel well built.

this post is irrelivant no proof, no RPMS.. no DBA's just no. this post could honestly be someone saying I took my 1000RPM fans off and put 2000 RPM fans on and i saw temp drops Oh Em Ge,. if you're gonna recommend something come with specs because there's always someone less knowledgeable

hey matt,
that sounds good, but we like stats.. temps, sound levels, speeds, etc...
a good way to get flamed is incomplete information. linda like reaching into a pocket and
getting punched..

Stats can be found on the net. Just stating what i see. The fans are better than what came with the cooler.

Well do you have screen shots of previous temps and temps you have now? It would be good if we could actually see the improvement.

Im buying these for my system in signature(it has all random fans now), but Tom's review of them left me thinking of "pull prerformance".

So clearly to push through rad 4x sp120 in front, but 3 to top pulling from radiator, AF or SP?

Im sry if there is thread for this pull vs push fan type thing, i ges my "google" is brogen then.. :P

So basicly wich one would you buy and why?

if you want the noise, the performance editions are the ones to buy, if you like the quietness
then the quiet editions are a better way. on rads you can use the perf fans and undervolt
them to get them near the quiet edition fans.
i did the performance editions and undervolted them (i do not use fan controllers) and
have a quiet and cool system.

as tom said the airflow ones for your case and the static pressure ones for your cooler/rads... then you have to decide if you want the performance edition or the quiet edition.

i´d use the sp´s because of the same specs

Oops my bad, i menth quiet edition ones :)

I know now that those sp are great to pushing air through the rad, but for pulling air out of them, i dont know.

Anyways, i think i go with SP ones. I can allways change them to push, but i cant make AF to SP, if AF dont work even on pulling. I just need to member buy short screws to the rad, or make them my self from the copper ones that come with the rad.

Thanks for your advice!
Cheers, Mummy

Do you work for Corsair by any chance zorin1 :P

They definitely are not quieter than other fans though, not at full speed anyway.

Yeah, the quiet edition ones are as loud as other fans but he is on about the high performance ones which are around 7 db louder, still good fans though.

No I don't work for corsair. All I said is that they were not as loud as my stock fans and that my temps went down.

I can't get my Asus P8z77-v motherboard to control the fans. They always spin at top speed.

One thing that Tim did not mention is that the fans only have 3 pins and not 4. If you buy the High Performance fans you can reduce the speed and get the same performance as the quite ones.
