Replacing fans on the old Corsair H80 radiator

As the title says, I'm replacing the fans because they're just old (Jan 2012) and too loud for my liking. Because my CPU temps are quite high on several OCs (4, 4.4, 4.6) I'm also replacing the thermal paste because it's equally old. This is just to paint a complete picture.

In mind I had (and ordered for delivery tomorrow, but I can always return them):

They have less airflow (62.74 CFM vs 92 on the stock H80 fans) but since they are the newer product they might better at their job and be a tad quieter as well? That and I see Tom using similar ones in his vids so I know they must be good!

Basically I want good cooling performance from the fans as well (push-pull: [outside] [inside] < fan [radiator] < fan)

Hence I ask because these new fans are a bit lower specced.

The H80 allready has corsair sp120 performance edition's with it.
I run noctua nf-f12's (in push pull) on mine @1000rpm makeing them allmost inaudible (the stock ones can be real loud)

Not sure what fans came with the old H80, it's with the square block cooler and button in the middle with 3 speeds, but yeah they're loud! So I want quiter fans with excellent cooling :) Best of both worlds eh :)

I'd not get the SP Perfomance Edition, they can get very loud when they ramp up. I have SP Quiet Edition PWM's on my H100i, push and they are dead quiet.

I used to have regular 3 pin as well, but found that PWM is quieter... may just be me though, but just my observation.

I do have Performance editions as well, but I prefer Quiet Editions any day.

Hope this helpes! :)

As long as they keep temps perfectly I'm game! You mean these eh? http://www.corsair.com/se-fi/air-series-sp120-quiet-edition-high-static-pressure-120mm-fan-twin-pack

Yup, saw it the day it was uploaded ;) ... I was in love with it at the time, knew it would come before his review were up :)

I only recently saw the vid and was instantly sold, brilliant design!

Back on topic, looked in my BIOS for fan options and most have auto/manual/full. Played about a bit but it doesn't seem to make a difference, will need PWM fans for that I suppose.
