Corsair 600T SE Fan Controller

I purchased a Corsair 600T SE back in December which as a whole has been a great case so far. Unfortunately a couple of weeks ago I noticed the fan controller was no longer responding and as a result the fans were stuck at one speed.

A little bit of research suggested this was a fairly common problem with this case so I contacted Corsair Tech Support for assistance. Let's just say my Corsair experience so far has been pretty shocking to be honest with all sorts of mixed messages when they actually bothered to reply.

I'm now in the position where all the emails I've received suggest, via way of part number/sku, that a black 600T has been sent to me but one of the Corsair admins on their forum said that an actual fan controller/PCB has been sent to me instead. This contradicts with another Corsair employee who stated "the fan controller is not a user replaceable part" but as whatever they've sent to me hasn't arrived I'm still somewhat confused.

Can anyone confirm or deny whether it's possible to replace the fan controller on a 600T? If so is it an easy process?

If your like me i take the view i payed for it so i want to use it that said if you have a newish mobo then just use the fan heads and maybe some y spliters and just run the fans off that,

My GD80 has plenty of fan headers I could use but, rightly or wrongly, one of the reasons I chose the 600T SE was the integrated fan controller so ideally I want to make use of it. Not that I can it's current state however.

What retailer did you get it from? I try to avoid the original manufacturers warranties if I can and try and do it through the retailer. I know this would most likely mean sending your case back to them, but they should pay for the courier and everything as it is under a year old. They'll then replace the unit for you.

I will say try and avoid getting a refund to buy elsewhere or something, if you may do that. As if is over 6 months they dont have to give the full refund, so they may only give you 60% of it, you never know. They should have the option to replace it though.

Good luck

if they don't solve your issue there's always the option getting the same controller from ebay (or sth) and replace it your self. I don't know how it's that controller but I think it's gonna be a couple of screws removal job

UPS just turned up and this is what Corsair have sent me -

No paperwork, no instructions, nothing.

Not really sure how I feel about this after all the hassle I had with Corsair over the last two weeks. Perhaps I should simply be grateful I've been sent a spare part but as the case is only a few months old I'm a bit annoyed at having to dismantle part of it at least and do all the cable management again.

That's pretty shoddy to be perfectly honest. They could have at least provided some instructions :/

true but they might not sell those controllers so there r no instructions included

actually as far as I can see no instructions are needed. just unscrew the old and screw the new

Still as a sign of courtesy they should have provided some form of documentation. Whether it be a compliment slip or an apology for the inconvenience or something like that. At least he got a replacement though

Corsair got back to me and confirmed they don't have any instructions they could send me. Still like you say even a compliment slip would be preferable to nothing at all.

Fair enough most of us are on this forum as we're PC enthusiasts and as a result have some ability when it comes to building rigs but for Corsair to just send a PCB/wiring loom to a customer with no documentation and expect them to just get on with it isn't very professional. More so if the recipient had little to no technical knowledge of PC's.

Yep I 100% agree with you.
