Corsair 380T Cooling Setup

Heya lads,

So I'm trying to think out the best cooling setup for the 380T and wanted some help/tips on it...



Now what I'm trying to figure out is this:


Front 200mm intake fan OR 2x 120's AF as intake?...


Rear 120mm AF fan OR Noiseblocker / Phobya NB-eLoop exhaust.



H100i, as intake or exhaust?, to then have the fans on the inside of the rad or on the outside (closest to the actual side panel).

Considering that the graphics card will be considered as an intake, I'm not sure what the best setup would be in this case.

I would have a slow and quiet 200mm front fan as intake, H100i on side as intake with fans in pull, and something quiet with great airflow on the back as exhaust. Lots of lovely positive pressure.

Depending on the GPU, you can pretty much ignore it if it's a blower style fan like a stock Nvidia card.

Yeah the GPU I have in mind is the Gigabyte 980Ti G1 Gaming mate, think it makes some difference since not being a blower style cooler.

Not sure what you mean to be honest, and what kind of options, did you manage to find any before that came up then?

I was looking at the product page and saw the front panel I/O and it reminded me of the WAT meme. Just found it amusing is all. No offence intended.

Onto your cooling - I'd have the 200mm fan as it has a much larger surface area than the 2x120mm (Area = Pi x Radius ^2) and that's the first time I've ever used '^' properly in a forum.

So it's better air flow for the same RPM and you only have one motor spinning and can slow it down to a nice quiet speed. The only concern you may have is finding one you like the look of. If you don't like any 200mm fans then choose to go 2*120 as it's a better option than a single 140 obviously

H100i as intake or exhaust makes bugger all difference to the CPU. Only 1 or 2 degrees but it means your GPU could be bathing in warmer air. Bearing in mind your GPU is going to be pulling fresh air from the Left side of the case (looking from the front) this isn't an issue. I'd have both GPU and H100i pulling in colder air and dispelling it out the back. Basically exactly what Davva suggested.

Haha okay, no worries mate no offense taken mate Just didn't get what you meant by it all haha, that's all

And cool, yeah I do have an BitFenix Spectre Pro 200mm blue led fan, but from my experience with any BitFenix fan is that they get like a jet when put right next to a fan filter lol.

Intake or exhaust for the H100i, I know doesn't make all that difference in terms of temperatures. But I'm thinking regarding keeping the best overal positive pressure inside and for the best looks of the H100i with fans etc... it's just that what I'm after

Okay, so basically having the H100i directly on the bracket and then having the fans in pull, pulling cool air through the rad and then out inside the case, which then gets pushed out the back with the rear fan... if I've gotten it all corretly?

Yeah essentially all the air blows into the centre above the motherboard and gets carried out with the airflow from the front to the back.

I had a Spectre Pro 140mm which I replaced with an AF140. Wasn't bad but yeah a bit noisy. I did like that the LED was had an independent switch circuit so you could turn it on or off from outside. My AF doesn't have any lighting so not an issue.

Hey mate as everyone has said is how I've got my 380T setup 200mm Bitfenix Pro linked to the Corsair h80i GT as if its connected directly to the 380T's fan controller it wont start until its on the maximum setting it'll just glow . With it connected to the AIO the rest of the fans are on the minimum and the Bitfenix stays vquiet as if its on the lowest speed or near.

200mm Intake
120mm on H80iGT intake Cold Air from outside in push pull (Had to cut a corner of a corsair high static pressure fan off to get it to squeeze in)
120mm Rear exhausting hot air out and jobs a good'un

Did you manage to fit your 980TI into it in the end did mean to message back
