Hi, this is a rig i just finished for a friend.

Corsair 200R
Corsair H100 with Yate Loon 1650rpm fans
Corsair CX750 modular PSU
i5 3570K OC 4.4GHz
MSI MPower Z77 motherboard
16gb Avexir Core Series (MPower) RAM
Powercolor 7870 Tahiti LE Myst+ Graphics Card OC 1180 Clock 1600 mem
64gb Crucial M4
500gb WD Blue

I sheathed the fan cables in yellow and black, put leds behind the front grill and painted the case screws yellow.

I had a budget to stick to but the main goal was to make i quiet and it is.

Let me know what you think.

I'll post pictures of my rig once its done.

Big thank you to you all for recommending a graphics card and a motherboard. The card is a beast, the voltage is locked but it overclocks very well, and would do better if it had after market cooling.

Did you have to do any modifying to the case to get the H100 in there? I was under the impression it wouldn't fit.

It looks nice tho. Cables could be a little more tidy but not bad at all.

Depends on the mobo and RAM heatsinks, but it does fit...

Liking the build man! But I think you should've spent just a tad more on the case and PSU, personally :)

Yeah the heatsinks and RAM were in the way. If you look at the picture at the top you can see that the H100 isnt screwed through the holes that Corsair intended. I had to drill 4 new holes on the other side aw well just where the crease in the top is, i fitted the spare grommets that Corsair kindly include and its fits lovely.

I couldnt get the cables any more tidy, theres just no where to hide them. Thats why i used yellow cable ties and some yellow sheathing, along with some black to try and accent the cables that couldnt be hidded.

Its not my rig so i couldnt spend anymore. I had to work with the budget i was given. To be honest i think its really nice, subtle and quiet and the GPU is a beast for the money!
I dont think theres anything wrong with the CX750M. Its a good price, has all the right connections, looks good, performs well and the fan doesnt kick in loud. In fact i have this PSU in my rig and even at high CPU over clocks ive not had an issue.

Well you certainly did a good job. I'm considering using the 200R for my upcoming overhaul with an H80i. Still undecided but it's not to see that I would have options should I chose this case.

Yeah the H80 would mount nicely in the top, side panel or the back. the included fans are nice and quiet too.

Btw, how is that GPU you chose? I've been looking at it on Newegg and just wondering how hot it gets under load. Some reviews say its ok, but others say it gets pretty hot.

Umm, yeah it gets hot, but the fan stays pretty quiet and the mild overclock I applied doesn't push it into the 90's or anything under Heaven or 3dMark. For the money it's the best. I got that one from Aria and it included 4 games as well. I recon if you water cooled it the clocks could be pushed further. I didn't go hard on it though because I wanted to keep its single fan quiet.

I very much like those little yellow accents (yellow zip ties? Awesome!).

I do agree that getting the cables a bit tidied up would be nice, but if there is no room then there is no room of course . The way things are looking, any additional cable organizing would be mostly cosmetic and not really improve airflow or maintainability (the other two reasons for having a tidy PC that come to mind).

Even though the multi-thousand $ builds usually get the glory (and of course, they are awesome, and at some point I'd very much like to do one myself), I'm always interested in what can be done on a budget that's actually realistic for the average PC builder.

Creativity and good workmanship do not depend on the components' worth after all, and that's what makes a build/mod really interesting as far as I'm concerned.

a pic of the cabling on the back please? else it looks nice.

ive given it to its new owner now. i can ask, but you can rest assured that everything is sleaved and is as tidy and cable tied as it can be

I just thought if im going to use zip ties i may as well colour code them. i couldnt buy yellow case screws anywhere, so popped out, bought some automotive clear coat and some bright yellow nail varnish(polish)! they didnt have bright yellow car paint in the shop.

Maybe i need to look at my cable management skills, i thought that was OK. Whatever i couldnt hide i tried to make a feature out of.

Im still learning so this is all useful stuff. If you look at when i joined this site (a matter of weeks ago) i had never overclocked, water cooled or anything, id built PC's but not to the extent that you guys do here!

all this is very useful. Im just waiting on another 5 litres of distilled water and ill have my water cooling done. (turns out 5 litres isnt quite enough, i think about 7 will do!

i see a front panel audio cable if i'm not mistaking. i usually remove it, i mean who the hell uses front panel audio and it just looks like hell in the rig because the cable goes right above the PSU.

I don't personally use the front panel audio because my computer is part of my bedroom studio setup, but if I didn't have a sound card I would. While testing the rig I used it because headphone cars aren't that long. If the owner wants it taken out he can, but I can't start disabling features jus for aesthetics.

How's that corsair PSU doing for you?
It's fine. Your going to have to be more specific. It powers my rig and the 200r rig fine, it doesn't seem to get hot or noisy. I don't think I would personally notice a difference between the cx, gs, or ax series. I run my 560ti and my 4.7 overclock fine. The 200r runs fine too.

Learning is what it's all about (well, maybe a bit of fun, too ;)). Even though I've been watercooling for more than 10 years, my own experience with overclocking is very limited (first I lacked the money, then I did my military service and lacked the time, and so on).

In the end, feedback based on pictures is always based on incomplete information, meaning it is not always applicable to the situation at hand.

But maybe I can be a bit more specific: There are two areas that I would try to rearrange a bit if it was my rig: I would try to line up the two flat cables coming to the graphics card which are now coming in at different angles. Maybe zip tie them together with multiple zip ties so that they're lying above each other in parallel.

Secondly, I'd reduce the criss-crossing of cables down in the PSU area.

To me, the optical objectives of cable management are minimizing crossing cables as much as possible and not having too much excess cables visible, with the first one being more important. But that's just personal preference, others might of course have different priorities. And not hindering airflow is the primary goal naturally, which I think you have achieved here.

Again, despite best intentions, my suggestions might simply not be feasible. But I hope it's helpful for future builds at least ;).
