Core2 Motherboard

Ok. Im completley stuck for an uber overclocking motherboard for my E6600. I dont particurlaly want to have to mod it straight away to get decent preformance, but if the BadAxe is faster hands down, even against a modded Asus, then im happy to do the mods to the BadAxe soon as i get it. :D

The 2 boards im looking at are the P5W and the BadAxe.

The labs at AnandTech http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=2797 said the P5W can get a 440/450 FSB and 500 with a volt mod.

But loads of people here and on XS are using hard modded/(stock?) BadAxes and are getting crazy results!

Which one do i go for!!

Do i just scrap it all and get a P5B or something?

:sad::sad:

Thanks all!

If you vmod and use BIOS 0801 the P5W DH board flies - without them, it's a bit of a scabby dog for extreme clocking with a mach 2 or similar phase cooler, still good for 400mhz plus fsb

Bad axe is a great board if you dont mod them..... go figure??? Good for 400mhz or more.

The other option is the Power up 975 from MSI which is now avialable in the UK - but even that hoas some issues (375 max fsb for now)

That about as much as i know for intel stuff right now (still re-learning after a long stint with AMD).
