Feel free to ask me about the overclocking ive had my spare one up past 5ghz mate

ok thanks, how do you go about it with this chip? my cooler is awesome so can push to the limit, got a spare i3 in my home server, its a proper independent server, all linux

thanks but was hoping for a more i3 540 overclock somebody has done, the PSU at the min is 620w and it cant cope with the 6870 toxic being plugged in, maybe its a crap PSU, it a generic thing

It may be,its one of those psu labeled way higher its actual output.

Run as fast as you can,and buy a quality psu, before it melt down all your components

OK so kilobravo what do you recommend? just need advice a lot, im a system builder but unfortunately I only get to build business machines that are all generic parts (hate that stuff), just new to the whole performance and OCing

I will recommend, for non-modular corsair tx 750 v2,semi-modular corsair tx750M or hx850,full-modular corsair ax750.If you plan too build a more powerfull rig in near future,i would look at corsair ax 850.These psu comes with 5-7 year warrenty from corsair.

Corsair is known for high quality and good performance, therefore manny are buying this brand.

Other good brands for psu are, seasonic and enermax.

Always look for newest releases, they are normally better.

ok well i plan to go to i5 befor the end of the year, is there much point going i5 or is i3 ok? its a 4Ghz and 7.3 on windows scale, after PSU getting another toxic 6870, would a 750w still be ok? thanks

750w is good enough for x-fire 6870.But for future upgrade ax850,if it were my money.

Unless you can get a cheap socket 1156 i5 chip.

There is no point,in my opinion, too buy a new chip.

i5-2500k + a new mobo is the way to go,if so.
