Ok so i have the H50 and it working great so far but im always looking to improve my rig.

I currently run the standard fan that comes with it as an intake, but im buying 2x Noctua NF-P12's to work as push pull.

My question is whats the best fan setup do i go intake or exhaust ?

I have a Antec 1200 with the 200mm top fan on exhaust and a 120mm on exhaust about my radiator if this affects it.

It would strongly depend on your case. Don't forget that having them on intake on the back of your case is going to bring that hot air in and dump it right over your northbridge.

I will admit I did get better temps on the intake. Very good temps actually. Sadly my 280 was then idling at 82C. So I suppose the best thing to do is just see how you get on.

Hmm makes sense that. Basically with the fans directly on the rad you lose airflow dead center because it creates a solid wall. By adding the shroud not only do you unblock that part but you also create a pressure tube.

I would imagine they could even be bettered with some of those rubber seals. That way you would create some serious air pressure. Hmm.. Want... Two of with rubber gaskets :D

put one of those between the rad and the case and the fan on the other side of it

but mate if you have any spare old fans, you can just cut out all the guts and just keep the outer case and use that for a shroud :D

Excellent ! i'll order one on the 27th when im payed.

Would this work with one on the intake fan aswell ?

Also just to let u know i turned my fan round so its and exhaust for the rad and my temps jumped 5degrees :O

my i7 920 is idling at 47oc :( this seems a bit high tbh.

It will work on both fans dude. So you can still run push pull in there very easily.

If you look at a fan you can see quite clearly how this will work. On the frontside of a fan where it pulls the air in there is a plate of plastic to hold the motor to the fanbody. On the other side you have that plastic bullet thing. Putting either directly to the rad will create a dead spot right smack in the middle of the rad, meaning water in that part isn't getting any air. Sealing them on with those silicon gaskets will stop any leakage of air between the shroud and fans and the shroud and radiator. Remember, air leaked out is air wasted.

So for ultimate performance..

Very very nice info guys thx :) im deffo getting 1x of this shroud and i just noticed that a second one would cause the second fan to conflict with the Pump :(. But i can see it being of upmost advantage to the intake fan that blows right on hte rad.

So here is my final plan.

1x Shroud and gasket(i guess these are on the site to) for intake to the H50 Rad.

A Noctua NF-P12 as Exhaust for the H50 Rad.

A Noctua NF-P12 as the intake for the H50 Rad.

I will also transplant the Corsair referance fan to my side panel to blow on my GPU (save money).

Please have a read if u want http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1025/7/ and feel free to respond.

**EDIT** Damn i need some black 5mm Fan/Rad screws to

that the ones that you use on the fan to attatch it to the rad? if so mate you can go to model shops with it and give them it and im sure they will have longer ones

Right just an update for u guys, I have just purchased 3x Noctua NF-P12 fans but decided against the Shroud and gasket as i can buy these later if i dont likethe performance.. im sure i put my paste on wrong on my H50 anywho so im going to resit it after i install these.

Iv been away for a week as i had to RMA my motherboard as the voltage controller on the board died and i had no 3/4pin available lol. I got the rev2 of the X58A-UD3R back and its had bad reviews so i hope its not a Crock'O'****.

I'll in stall these and test in Case (---->) RAD (---->) or Case (<----) RAD (<----) setup and post my results.
