okay, heres the situation.

in about 2 to 3 weeks (whenever im setting up ionicles new rig for him) hes switching round graphics cards, and is going to have an fx5500 goign spare, which hes goign to seel to me so i can see how much of an OC i can get out of it, and possibly use it for some light gaming..the problem is that the fan on the card is the stock one...AND its got one or two fins missing:( im looking for a vga cooler that isnt too expensive to fit this card..

any suggestions?

No probs mate. You'll ahve to volt-mod that 5200 as they don't OC much at stock voltage, by all accounts :)

its 55000..theyll clock a lil higher..but im goign to raise the agp bus to 79 ( it will stay stable at that ive tried) and raise the voltage 5 or so percent..should be bale to get a bit of a decent clock with that

heres the link for the cooler i think ill get..its kinda n00b toy, but its cheap, it uses liquid cooling..not to mention itstops you seeign the crappy 5500;)

Hate to say it mate, but increasing the AGP bus speed will not improve the performance of the card at all.

The AGP bus is not a bottleneck, and will handle the throughput of a 5500 with ease.

damn, oh yes, i keep forgetting the 5500 is CRAP rotl

im used to having to adjust the pci on my bros comp..he runs two 7800gtx's in sli :yumyum:

i told him to join, but he isnt really into OC'ing, he just buys whupparse parts and gets me to build it and soup it up....he just uses the pc for music editing and a bit farcry..and he hosts the schools doom 3 server(needless to say hes made it private:()

EDIT:

anyway, the point is, what do you think of that cooler everyone...and no im not getting an artic cooling blah blah blah, i hate them all..and im only spending 15-20 pounds on a cooler..ill get a good cooler when i get the x850 at christmas:D

You still don't need to adjust it :rollingla

you do when the pos board is clocked to 59 mhz bus default..and no i dont know why the fuck its so low, the comp barely worked half the time till i adjusted it to the standard 69/70 and no errors since then

As he has got dual 7800's it would be safe to assume that he is running a pci-e board - meaning the default bus speed is 100mhz - so u might wanna up it some more.

its runnign fine somewhere below 100...windows isnt crashin, everythings stable, tbh he doesnt really need any of the power he has, so i'll just leave it

id really love to know why his board randomly had a 49 bus speed though:S you'd think they'd notice that in quality control

can SOMEone tell me what they think of the cooler..just the coler, i dont want any comments bout me getting full water cooling or w/e JUST the cooler lol
