Cooler for Amd 965 black

What would be the best heatsink for a Amd 965 Black? Main problem I have is I only have 141mm of clearance. So no D14 or any of the other great big coolers that I know of will work. I have looked at the XIGMATEK LOKI but haven't found any reviews of it yet, just the normal announcements of it coming out. The system will be mildly overclocked, not sure how much yet since I am in the building process.

Also on a side note. What 140mm intake fan would most of you recommend? I do like the nzxt fan I purchased for the intake of my phantom case.

for mild oc prolly about any cooler that has a 92mm fan should work for you. I had a rocketfish universal that had a 92mm fan and it kept my 925 cool at a decent 3.7GHz from 2.8GHz stock with 1.35 volts.

Never thought i should recomend this, but have a look at arctic cooler freezer 13

Thanks Kilobravo, even though you don't seem to like the ac freezer 13.

I know most ppl on here is all for a d14, and if the case had the room, and was going to keep the cpu maxed stable oc'ed then I would go with it or one of the beefier coolers.

But after reading a bunch of the forum posts here I was looking at the AC freezer 13. In some of the reviews that I read its not a bad little cooler. This review shows it with a cooling of 43 delta so, should go pretty well with the build I am doing.

I found one that will work that some ppl would be more happy with

Noctua NH-C12P SE14 it seems like it should work, and do a good job cooling the processor

different coolers offer different pleasures, but... the can only blow the air through and out of it that is being supplied!

it is pointless getting a beefy air cooler if your air supply IN and OUT of your case is pathetic, you will just be blowing the same air round and around!!!

always match the intake case fans with the cooler and get stronger exhaust fans - this will ensure the inside of the case will always be processor friendly

The rig I am building has 2x 120mm intake, 1 side, 1 front. Exhaust is 2x 140mm in top, and a 120mm rear. Should be plenty of airflow in the case

This is for a persons 2 kids. He wanted a case they liked with some decent computer hardware that they could game on besides doing homework within a budget. The case they picked was nzxt m59 case.

So the rigs is going to be:

-NZXT M59 case

-MSI 890GXM-G65 MB

-AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE

-Crucial Ballistix Racer 2x 2GB DDR3 1600

-OCZ ModXstream Pro 600w psu (not a fan of ocz, but on sale for $69us, modular within budget, good customer reviews.)

-WD Blue 500gb HDD

-MSI 560GTX-ti Twin Frozr

-Noctua cpu cooler (So I can OC them some)

-along with fans to finish up filling case fan slots.

So not to expensive of a build, wanted good vid cards so they can game some.

Just got and installed a TRUE 120 Rev. C to replace a hyper 212 on my AMD 940 Rig. The difference in cooling alone is quite noticeable. I can easilly get much higher clocks and temps are noticeably 5-7 degrees cooler than before. I'm keeping my rig O/C'd at 3.8Ghz with 1.45v at 31'C idle. Very pleased with it, you should consider it for the AMD build. I'd recommend it.

The 560 might be a bit overkill. Exactly what games are they going to be playing??? You should save some pennies and consider a 460 instead...

The boy wants to play crysis, cod-bo, and more of that style of game, which is the reason going with the 560. But everything got put on hold, so now at a standstill until get the go to build. Glad I hadn't really got any of the parts yet
