Hey everyone, i was thinking of upgrading a part of my comp

u can see my comp in the profile thing in the bottom left of my post (im sure you all know)

i was thiking of upgrading my MOBO, since thats the only thing i believe is holding me back

my gpu cannot be oc'ed properly, i oc it but the fps in games is not consistent, and its not a program stoppin it

and i can oc my cpu to 2.42 with clock gen, a windows based oc program

i wanted to buy it from this store. www.canadacomputers.com

its right around the corner, its a socket 939, and i dont wana go above $120 tbh, and i wana no if its worth it, or just save for a lappy/or car with that money

thanks alot every1!

thing is, i read alot of stuff on the dfi-street site, and i have 4x512mb sticks of ram, they said those mobo's are reallly reallly PICKY on ram. so i dont wana make a huge mess

and i dont have enough cash for 2x1gb sticks, plus their overpriced HUGE right now

im not a fan of gigabyte, their customer support is absolutely terrible, my friend has a 6600gt from them, and they dont respond to his emails, and they dont even have a contact thing on their site

i also bought a 6800gt from them, stock heatsink was garbage and had to replace that, and this card is lacking compared to other 6800's out there.

so im not a fan of them tbh, trying to stay away from them

I agree I'm not either

You're best off getting and Asus or a DFI

Maybe an Infinity or something if budget is tight?

Ultra-D or an Asus A8N SLi Deluxe/A8N Deluxe would be the best tho

what about from here?

i was looking at the biostar and the asus a8n-e

i like this biostar one, it looks promising.

the foxconn ones are microatx, and i want a full size mobo, dont no if that makes a difference

u think i should be able to clock to 2.5 area? that would be a nice perf boost, i hope this will also allow my gfx card to be oc'ed

do all my parts look compatible also? thanks alot

Off topic: The site seem's to be running really slow to me, is it just me?

I ran 4x512 Kingtson value on 2 DFI boards fine. Of course, ive had really good luck with them. Mark seems to find Biostar real promising so it should be a winner.

I give a BIG 2 thumbs up to Biostar Tforce mobos...

Also when I needed customer service they were great.

Do you have PayPal?

thing is, if i buy it, would i have re-install the mobo driver's? like i wouldnt no how to do that stuff, i would either buy from some1 on this site, or just buy from tigerdirect/canada computers and have them install it and do updates for me and w/e

cool thing about this forum, there is no shortage of people to help you out.

Besides you have to learn to do that sometime..

yay!!

sry for kinda off topic, but what would the steps be? take out this mobo, install everything on the new one, boot it up, (do i go to windows screen or mess with bios) and then install drivers from the cd?

Just plug it all in, run the windows CD (format the hdd) than once its running (about 20 min) Install the drivers, And ur done.

Its better usually to get drivers directly from the website so what I do is download the drivers first and burn them on a CD, than I install them instead of the CD that comes with the mobo.

If ur not running a Raid its pretty easy to set up a mobo.
