It's been a while since we've had a chance to review a GPU from Club3D, and today we have the R9 285 COOLSTREAM to look at. Let's see how it performs

Noice! I was looking at these the other day, with the future possibility of XFire later.. What is the weight like of the card, is it a hefty beast or a no worries light as a feather slab, sag bothers me.

Well I don't have a set of scales to weigh it but i'd say it is pretty lightweight, I didn't see any sag when it was being tested. Hope this helps

All I needed to know, thanks dude. ;) It'll go on the list of maybes, I'm a way off yet but it's good to have a plan.

Wait for the full new releases from both sides bud. AMD usually make great mid range cards and Nvidia might get their pricing right...

Exciting times ahead.

Theres SFA stock around now Wraith - be better off waiting for 960 prices

Noted thanks guys, I'm a very thorough these days so my eyes are constantly scanning the market waiting for just the right moment, I'll probably pull the trigger around March/April time so plenty of time yet. Also the card choice must meet my Photoshop needs more than just gaming, especially when editing 4K+ multi layer photos.

I wonder if photoshop will favor AMD more as Apple is using AMD for the next few generations. Only time will tell.

The 6790 was a good card for PS until my PSU killed it, but it only shone with elements and HDR Lighting, as I don't use those features anymore I'm unsure as to which GPUs Photosoup prefers when editing and repairing photos, what I do know is that 2GB+ is a definite. The 750Ti is performing absolutely admirably the Maxwell core is a winner in my eyes, but once you hit 6-7 layers and start adding filters it really starts to struggle. As you say Only time will tell.

Well adobe has been going heavily into openCL acceleration, and I have read reports of them looking into the whole HSA thing too.
