Well, ive got about 2.1 meters of cappilary tube. But its in a state. Wondering if theres an acidic somthing or cleaner that i can dip it in and it'll take off the surface layer?

/me thinks back to gcse science days

im sure electrolysis or something like that does it. something to do with electricity neway

Noooooooooooooooooo!

No acids! They will result in poisoning the oil in the system!

Its of really no concern but you should get a wire brush and clean it off before you braze. Flux also is a bit of a cleaner, but after brazing make sure u wipe it off.

tomato ketchup and a cloth / Tcut / a bucket of vinegar would all do it wouldnt they?

I dont think viniger is strong enough, will give it a go.

Down to 2m as i found a hole...

Before Nol has a fit this will be just to test the priciple that the unit works. Ill then source a decent lenght from god-knows where.

Salt, Vinegar, and Flour. Dissolve 1 teaspoon salt in 1 cup white vinegar. Add enough flour to make a paste. Apply the paste to copper and let sit for 15 minutes to 1 hour. Rinse with clean warm water, and polish dry.

Aparently works wonders!

Nope the problem with that is the vinegar (acidic) gets into the copper and then is pulled out by the oil in the system. This then creates acid in the compressor which eats the seals and destroys the windings.

Think ive given up on this bit of tube... another hole.

Need to get in touch with some UK phasers. $40 postage for what i need from under-the-ice...

Ill bare you in mind i n future mate but i got 6m of the stuff from johann a few months ago.

Well pleased to see an experianced uk phaser here btw:wavey: .

like Nol said i wouldnt use an acid, if anything just straight alcohol. acid on copper will eat it right up.
