Basically, i'm getting the urge for new hardware. My 2 460's have started to LAG on skyrim and such with the heavy mods i like to run, so i was considering a gtx 680. thing is, i don't have enough money

So i have 2 choices: limit my mods

(mostly hi res textures and enb's) or sell my gpu's here on the forums and get a 680. simple enough yes? well after i was looking on scan.co.uk i got more undicicive, so i need you guys to help me out here:

1.How much do you think i could sell 2x Gigabyte super overclocked GTX460 1Gb (rare now, ceased to be sold/made)?

2.Which Gpu should i get?

splashed out on nvidia 3d vision 2 and a 3-d monitor, wouldn't want to render it obsolete after a couple of months. Probably should o mentioned that

I am considering a 580, is there really that much of a difference between a decent 580 (like the super overclock) and a reference 680?

Not tried Skyrim, but with my 580 I average 55 - 60 fps on bf3 with everything maxed out at 1920 x 1200. If you will be gaming in 3D it would essentially be half of that (I think).

So not that much of a difference

I don't really notice any framedrop in 3D mode when playing any game though

Is yours a 1.5 or 3gb 580?

The 3-d is excellent on a few games, but on most it's a bit gimmicky, and only really works on the lowest depth settings

It's 1.5GB. The highest VRAM usage I've seen is under 1450MB

I've seen test's on heavily modded skyrim like mine that exceed 2400 Mb at 1980x1080, I think i might get the evga gtx 580 3gb classified, going for a good price on scan atm

Yeah it would be better to get the 3GB version then. I don't play Skyrim (yet) so I don't need the extra VRAM.
