What is it about where I am? It never snows, maybe the government should just hire me to move around the country and save money on gritting the roads? (I could do with the money)
Traffic in the city centre in Dublin was at a standstill this evening coming home. Took me over two hours in a taxi and I only live about 5 miles away (walking wasn't an option in the sleet and paths covered in slush) - the fare nearly made me sick
My god, two hours. That must have been a horrible fare. You should try car sharing or hitching a lift. I'm sure someone would be glad of the company whilst they wait in traffic.
No one I know heads back my direction from work unfortunately. To be honest, I would have been better off walking home, probably destroying my shoes and trousers in the process - but could have bought new pairs with the taxi fare!!
i'm snowed in!! woop woop! Just had a phone from work saying not to come in. (roads are lethal around there and they decide not to grit them. Idiots!). So i think there will be 1 more 24 year old in the snow today
The snows not long since started here in Donny, and it's settling quite quickly. Looks like I am in for another fun day, trying to get out and about. That's the only trouble with being self employed, I dont get paid when I have to have the day off . On monday, I had to push my scooter a mile and half home from my lockup. If I had left it there, the local chavs would have had away with it, and it was too icy to ride home.
If it gets too bad later this afternoon, I will probably end up taking the kids sledging again. There's a stately hall (Cusworth Hall) near here that has a good hill for sledging .
